CV-82 compressor acting weirdI was playing around with some drumloops when I noticed a strange thing. If i start to turn the knobs right away everything seems (sounds) fine, but if I load a preset (practically any of them) and turn the treshold down (towards the most negative number) the overall volume increases!? Would someone please explain to me why this happens? Is this normal behaviour or an already reported bug maybe? After I close the effect and open a new instance the the anomaly disappears unless I load a preset (factory).
Re: CV-82 compressor acting weirdI've been curious about this too - I kept thinking there was a "back-panel" setting I was missing somewhere.

Re: CV-82 compressor acting weirdIsn't that how a compressor is supposed to work? When you turn the Threshold more towards the negative value (-40dB), the more of the signal will get compressed by the factor determined by the Ratio knob, which in turn makes everything else louder.

Re: CV-82 compressor acting weirdYes and no. It should compress the signal just like you said, but it should not increase the output gain automatically, that is why the makeup gain knob (or output)is there. It would be ok if it would have an auto makeup gain option, but there is no such thing. If you try it out straight away and then after with a preset loaded you should notice that the CV82 acts differently in this regard, and there are no options on the gui to mimic this behaviour. Just like Audiomaly wrote, like: Where is the back-panel switch for this?
Re: CV-82 compressor acting weirdmaybe the presets are buggy try to write over them

Re: CV-82 compressor acting weirdI remade all the factory presets by hand and voila: the weird behaviour is gone. Probably they were made with a different version or something, but they work now. Moderators should move this thread to bugreports i guess.
Re: CV-82 compressor acting weirdbug reported on the beta forum ...
