I just checked and Reaper sends CC # 123 (All Notes Off) value zero when double clicking it's Stop button. But not CC # 120 (All Sounds Off) which may be a clue and may explain why no one else has reported this issue at KVR.
Same with Sonar....it only sends CC # 123 when single clicking Stop. I imagine every DAW has some manner of panic button.

Re: Dune 2 - Filter resetsHi guys
Marcin yes selecting midi forget corrects this issue! Tek, now I see the truth. I then used link to next controller and reassigned the cutoff to the Drehbank, however double clicking stop no longer resets the cutoff frequency. Now, if I use midi learn, double clicking stop resets the cutoff. In fact, if you just right click and select click midi learn without even assigning a controller, the first double click on stop does nothing, but any consecutive panics will now reset the cutoff (or whichever parameter you may have been using) it would appear that activating MIDI learn is assigning the stop cc to the selected parameter. I would say this is not a bug, but an interesting lesson. Thanks everyone. Peace luv and aciiid. ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq
Re: Dune 2 - Filter resets
If you read the steps i gave, i didnt midi learn anything. So its def a bug. No word from the dev on this??? If its an orion bug, it wont get fixed. Youre stuck with yet another 'workaround' Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Can't confirm here, even following your instructions. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Dune 2 - Filter resetsCan't confirm unless MIDI learn activated.
Solved when MIDI forgot. As shown, after MIDI learn active, if stop is next action, then stop is the midi cc assigned. If link to next controller is used, this situation does not arise. Cheerio ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq
Re: Dune 2 - Filter resetsConfused now.
UFO, if what you write is true, then it's an user error. However, Krim said he didn't use MIDI Learn - neither have I, but still can't reproduce this error. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Dune 2 - Filter resets
I did read the steps you gave and tried several times to reproduce the issue but can't............. Marcin or Rich will have to confirm or deny this but I suppose it's possible that accidentally clicking learn....at any time.....might leave D2 in a state where it's just waiting for the next CC message to assign that controller. Then as soon as you double click Stop it assigns CC # 120. I don't know if D2 perpetually waits for a CC # after midi learn even when it is closed then reopened or not. The only other explanation would be that somehow D2 goes in to Midi Learn mode all by itself.....but then why only the Filter Cutoff ? If it's going in to mid learn mode by itself then yes that's a bug but if not.........it's more than likely human error. Or Orion is doing something funky....but only with D2......
Re: Dune 2 - Filter resetsYes, Its a strange one..... maybe switching to midi cc from vst has something to do with it...?

Re: Dune 2 - Filter resetsThat's very possible. I really wish VSTi's would load defaulted to Midi CC............
Re: Dune 2 - Filter resetsHi
Can confirm this happens to any parameter on both Dune and Dune2 in either vst or cc mode. (Ok, I didn't check them all, but I did check a lot) If MIDI learn is activated on a parameter but no cc is assigned and the synth is deleted, when a new Instance is run it is not in 'learn' mode waiting for an assignment. MIDI learn has to be activated again to reproduce the incident. Cheers ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq
