Strange Dune 2.2 issue

Postby Steven_Blair » Wed Dec 17, 2014 12:27 pm

This has only started happening since I installed Dune 2.2, and has happened each time I have opened my solution.
None of my tracks have any sound when I hit play.
The first time this happened, I managed to get the sound when coming back on when I started hitting Solo on channels, but one of the Dune 2 channels, as soon as I brought it back in, stopped the sound working on everything.
I deleted the channel and continue working.
Loaded the solution up today, and the same thing (but now a different Dune 2 channel is blocking the sound).

I have checked that I didn't accidentmute etc

Anyone help?

I could really do with getting this finished today.

CPU is 16%
The volume meters on the mixer are moving as expected, however, the main volume is not moving.

I have attached a screenshot.

Anything being routed through the busses? Or you've accidentally clicked off routing to the master channel? Alternatively, it might be an ASIO problem. Switch off all programs that access the soundcard and try again. Possibly with a restart.

Try MME or DX drivers as well to see if it is an ASIO problem.

Mark,

I checked I hadn't done something stupid like that, but it seemed fine.
When I deleted the "rouge" channel, the sound cam back on all channels.
After I saved the solution, and reloaded, another Dune 2 channels inherited the role of being the rogue channel.

I am a little apprehensive changing drivers, since this was all working pre Dune 2.2, and it's only Dune 2.2 channels which cause the issue.

Could you email me the SFS so that I can check on my system?

Mark,

I have created a brand new solution, and it doesn't appear to do it.
I just reloaded my last tune, and the problem is there, so I am guessing it's either something up with the solution, or perhaps I upgraded Dune during the production of this track.

Do you still want the solution file?

Steven,

I haven't had that problem yet since the release, but was having similar problems during beta testing. Someone else was too. There was another thread about it here, I think. Although, it may have been at the beta forum. It has something to do with multiple instances of Dune 2 and maybe something strange with the buss system. Restarting a couple of times or opening another project and then reopening the problem track would fix it. Sometimes soloing certain tracks or busses and then un-soloing them would fix it. I got the feeling from the last thread that someone (mark) was onto it.
