Dear Synaspe Audio,
I think I've found a bug.
Description: Antidote in legato mode + matrix does not produce any sound!
Here's how to reproduce it:
- start with an empty project
- create an Antidote and init patch/reset device
- set poliphony from 8 to legato mode
- hook up a matrix pattern sequencer (note + cv should be connected by default)
- press play on matrix
Expected behaviour: it should play 16th notes
Observed behaviour: no sound from Antidote
I've tried different patterns, settings etc... same behaviour.
I'm on Windows 7, 64bit, Reason 8.3.2 @44100Hz, Antidote 1.2.6
Could you please look into this?
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Re: Antidote in legato mode and matrix: no sound. We'll look into it. But note that the Matrix is not able to send overlapping notes to my knowledge, hence legato play is not possible. So I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to achieve here, compared to using any other polyphony setting.

Re: Antidote in legato mode and matrix: no sound.
Hi, I usually use the Matrix "random pattern" feature to obtain a rhythmic bass line for a synth. Now, unless I'm missing something, Matrix has "tie" notes length and "short" notes length. When a "tie note" is followed by another note (either tie or short), and the hooked up synth is in legato mode (a Thor for example), it is my experience that the envelopes would not retrigger (this is my understanding of legato). Honestly I'm not sure if this is applicable also for Antidote, I just assumed that legato mode was the same. But, please correct me if I'm wrong! Nonetheless my surprise is that even with all staccato notes from Matrix, when in play, there is no output at all. Again, I could be wrong, but I thought it was worth to mention. If it is not a bug I apologize in advance. I could provide a youtube video example if needed but I could be able to put it online not before next weekend. Thanks for your time! Alex
Re: Antidote in legato mode and matrix: no sound.Antidote only treats overlapped notes as Legato. Afaik this is standard in general, not sure about Reason's internal devices.
Note if envelopes never retrigger then you would not be able to hear any sound (or only once, until the sound has faded out). It's possible that Thor does a partial retrigger of some envelopes when in Legato and played via Gate/CV, and thus you hear a difference. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Re: Antidote in legato mode and matrix: no sound.Hi Richard,
thank you for your attention and sorry for the late reply. I think I understand the overlapping notes scenario you mention but ATM I'm not sure I'm able to analyze the matrix device's CV output in order to verify this in accurate way. Apart from that, I'm still scratching my head on why matrix staccato notes don't produce any sounds with Antidote legato. Here's a short video which hopefully shows what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mqyg6QsTjOw And thanks again for your patience. Regards, Alex
