With any other envelope, the decay parameter determines the times it takes to reach the cut of point which is determined by the sustain level (The env.amount is of no relevance here to describe the issue
).
With the analogue env , the behaviour is a bit different , lets say cutoff is @25% ,filt.env.amout 80 % and sustain at max .
Once the decay stage has reached the cutof point , it will then gradually rise towards the sustain phase .
Is this expected behaviour ?
Second strange thing ...303 filter in combi with analogue envelope :
Filter cut off to zero , env .amount full and decay full ( no attack , no sustain ) ..the decay stage is really fast
Analogue envelope behaviour ...decay /sustain behaviour .Moderators: Christophe, Mark

Re: Analogue envelope behaviour ...decay /sustain behaviourYes that is correct behavior for many "true" vintage-analog envelopes (i.e. discrete circuits, neither CPU-controlled envelopes nor analog ICs). The Legend works this way too, it's just more subtle and thus less obvious. The effect of analog envelopes is mostly that it adds punch to the sound, great for snappy basses and such. For sounds where analog envelopes are not required or do not improve the sound, simply stick to the regular envelopes. This is true for 303 sounds as well, while the 303 has punch this is for completely different reasons, largely related to its accent feature.
