Just doesn't work - I moved my sample folder and now it can't seem to find anything even though I have added the exact subfolders as well as main folders as it can't seem to scan subfolders:

Sample finding is borkedScreenshots -
This is where I've moved the samples to and their subfolders This is how I've setup the paths in Orion This is what happens when I try and load a drum kit (the first one but they all do this) Even though the sample files are definitely in the Drum subfolder (but its obviously not scanning the sub sub folders): This is what happens when I load an IR preset even though the path is pointed correctly to the IR dir in samples
Sample finding is borkedso your IR cant find the sample or is it DR?
Sample finding is borkedHello to you too
Contrary to what a lot of people here say, I found that Orion does not scan subfolders. At least it never worked for me, I always had to put those subfolders in the Default Samples Paths as well. Don't really know why it doesn't work when you move them. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Sample finding is borkedI've had problems with some packed kits also. Reloading the Kit (preset) works, though this may not pertain to you if your samples are not packed in the kit preset.
As far as scanning samples for the Sampler and Audiotracks, it scans subfolders and does it well; very quick.
Sample finding is borkedi concur
Sample finding is borkedYou two talking about scanning subfolders during the "Collect missing samples" procedure, or scanning subfolders in general?
Personally, I can object to both. Generally, Orion for me won't look into subfolders, unless you put it in Default Samples Paths. Scanning for missing samples works fast, but it doesn't really work well. It looks for the filenames first, so if you have two files with same names (like you might have in some drum kits where samples are just named BD, SD, HHC, HHO and so on), it'll look for the first one it can find, regardless of which folder the correct one resides in. I think it would be good if it could look for folder names first, then file names (if folder wasn't found, then go for the file name, and if the folder exists, to look there). SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Sample finding is borkedthe former, but perhaps the code is same for both. my custom samples are all put in my custom folder and loaded via the sampler or audiotrack. but never DR i think thats how it is. if a sample is missing, it means it cant find a. the folder , OR then b. the file. Now after this it will look for the first file match since folder not present. Or if the folder was present you point it to the file.

For sure I know it's not looking inside subfolders, unless you punch the path in the options.
I think we're talking about two different things here. :hihi:
I know how it works, and it doesn't work. It doesn't look for the folder (even though the folder is there) during the "Collect Missing Samples" procedure, it just starts scanning through the folders and grabs the first file it finds with that name, even if it's the wrong one. Sample finding is borkedWell if you look at the path for the drum folder in my screenshots and then what is happening when I try and load a kit, it clearly is not scanning subfolders - a simple test confirms this, if I place the bassdrums folder in the default sample paths setting it finds and loads that bass drum sample that it tagged as missing before - however this means it looks like I will have to place every subfolder of the drum folder in as well (which is a pain and should not be needed if it was scanning subfolders - I should just need to point it to the root "Orion samples" folder). However there is more to it than this as I have put the exact subfolder in for the IR'sd and yet it is still not finding the sample (IR) when I load a preset for the Impulse response processor. My conclusion is that the path must be in the preset itself and that this is overriding the sample paths setting.

Sample finding is borkedStupid "browse for folder" dialogue can't even remember where it was last either so I have to start at "My Computer" every time to add a path
Sample finding is borkedOK my theory about where the path for IR's is stored too (in the preset not the default sample path) was correct - I made an empty samples folder in the Orion programme folder and moved just the IR's back and now they load properly.
I hope this will all get fixed at least for version 8

That's what you can find if you look in the IRP preset file. Interestingly, seems all presets for generators that need to load some sort of sample have this, sampler and drumrack included. Just checked. But I do think that placing a path should override this path inside the preset files. It should at least. SoundCloud ::: Facebook

Definitely - especially if this is already the case with the other generators
