Missing samples in DrumRackHello,
I'm running Orion 8 on two computers with WinXP-32. They are located in two different cities and I wanted to share my projects via e-mail. To save bandwidth I wanted to reduce the size of the projects by disabling File -> Project Settings... -> Bundle DrumRack Samples The problem appears already at the computer, on which I saved the project being missing samples on opening. The referenced directories do not exist on the machine, where I saved the project, btw. (See attached image) I have already figured out, that this is related to the DrumRack-presets containing sample-content. Of course I am able to reload the preset but any changes made will vanish then. Greetings Thomas You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackI forgot to mention that I was not able to collect the samples. Being part of the *.prs I was simüply not able to locate them and it seems that *.prs-files are not looked through.
Greetings
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackThese should be in your "Orion/Samples" folder. Have you moved them from there?

Re: Missing samples in DrumRackI didn't move the samples-folder or the content if it at all.
What I did was upgrading from Orion 7 to Orion 8. I was missing a whole lot of presets in my sampler and so i re-installed Orion 7 and copied all the presets from the 'Orion'-folder in the new 'Orion8'-folder including the drums. As well as I have unpacked the Orion 7 sample-zips in the Orion 8 samples folder. The related presets for this particular project are: ..\Synapse Audio\Orion 8\Presets\Drums\Acoustic\Jungle Kit.prs (14.933.020 bytes) ..\Synapse Audio\Orion 8\Presets\Drums\Acoustic\Phunk Kit.prs (11.943.559 bytes) I do not have separate drum-samples in the samples folder for this presets, I can not find the referenced WAVE-files anywhere and I did not delete any of them. I assume that it is possible to have the WAVE-files stored within the *.prs for the DrumRack (else the size would be quite big for 'just' some parameters and file-links).
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackI assume you also downloaded and installed o8samples.zip?
I don't know if the drum samples are in that file, but I didn't have any problem with these samples automatically appearing with the Orion 8 installation (which for me included the samples download).
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackYes, I did install that sample-package. Just to be sure I did again a couple of seconds ago.
The error still appears and can be easily reproduced this way: - open a new project - insert DrumRack/Acoustic/Jungle Kit - switch off File->Project Settings ...->Bundle DrumRack Samples - save - load (I don't even have to restart Orion to get that behaviour)
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackHave you checked in Options>Sample Paths to see if you have the appropriate paths there?
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackIt's weird that it's looking for Samples folder in the roots of your drives. And to be honest, I don't have any of those samples either.

Re: Missing samples in DrumRackI have set in addition to the sample path even the preset-path and the sample-subpath for drums, but this all didn't help.
So the presets of Orion 8 do not contain the Jungle Kit? Anyway, the preset can be loaded without any problem, the referenced paths as they appear in the message-box do not exist on my PC. The referenced samples do not exist on my PC either. Thus they must be part of the quite huge .prs. You should be able to get this file out of the preset-folder of the Orion 7 preset-path. It is obviously related to the preset-file. Is there the opportunity to extract WAVE-files from the preset-files?
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackBy the way, I do not even have a drive 'F:'
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackI can confirm.. same problem here.
Re: Missing samples in DrumRackthe samples are embeded in the .prs, its a multi sample kit (ie more than one vel hit per key)

Re: Missing samples in DrumRackThose are bundled kits containing multisamples, as Kriminal said. Bundled kits are like OSP or other sampler files, they can't be unbundled. With potentially a whole bunch of different samples per key, this doesn't make much sense anyways. If you must have access to a specific, single sound from the bundle for some reason, "Stream To File" is an option.

Re: Missing samples in DrumRackWhen You say -save and -load, do you mean save and load the preset, or save and load the song? If you mean preset, I wonder if it is possible that when you turned off the bundle feature and re-saved the preset (as you state in your procedure above) that you saved over the bundle with a new bundle-free prs? Maybe with the setting un-ticked and you saving over the prs with the same name?

Re: Missing samples in DrumRackYou'll still get the "Missing Samples" thingy if you save the preset with samples unbundled, since you still won't have the samples anywhere. As Rich pointed out, the only way to get the samples is to stream each sound and save them with correct names.
