Orion 8.5 beta... Zipper noise on VSTisI'm getting that annoying zipper noise when I am playing a song & I go into the piano roll for the VSTi. Happens to each of VSTis I use. This has been happening on my computer since Version 8. Would this happen to be because of a latency setting in my audio interface perhaps or a system issue?
Like sucks if you blow chunks
Re: Orion 8.5 beta... Zipper noise on VSTisPlease try increase the latency. What audio drivers are used?
What CPU usage You're noticing?
Re: Orion 8.5 beta... Zipper noise on VSTisI increased latency up to 30 milliseconds. Still get the same result.
I'm using EMU ASIO drivers for my 1616M card. E_mU discontinued their line of soundcards & I last official set ofdrivers they came out with. I believe they came out with a beta version for Windows 7 but I'm on Vista. I don't know if this has anyting to do with it, but I also have this computer connected to the internet with a ethernet connection with a Comodo antivirus 7 firewall. Disabling this is really not preferred because this is also my computer I use for schoolwork as well and I need to get online for research & assignments. Like sucks if you blow chunks
Re: Orion 8.5 beta... Zipper noise on VSTis
Hi, I have also E-MU drivers for 1212m audio card and audio-doc and also audio dropouts with many tracks in Orion 8.5 32bit and generell in Orion 8.5 64bit because the E-MU drivers are installed as 32bit application in Win7 64bit. The solution I have found is to use ASIO4ALL even if ASIO drivers are installed. On 32bit Win OS set buffersize to 512 samples and on 64bit Win OS set it to 2048 with one ASIO4ALL audio output. The lack of this solution is that it works only fine with only one audio output. But it works in the sense that there are no more audio crackles or zippers. But on the other hand there are no ASIO latency or audio problems using the E-MU ASIO with cubase or Sonar.
Re: Orion 8.5 beta... Zipper noise on VSTisThanks Merlin. Asio4All seemed to fix it the problem.
I too am running the same settings you are.. Orion 32 bit on a 64 bit system. The limit on inputs won't be a big deal as I use Reaper for my audio recording & Orion for all of my midi & music production. It really sucks EMU/Creative doesnt support their soundcard range annymore. Their line of 1212m, 1820m, 1616m are top notch even by today's standards! Like sucks if you blow chunks

That's right, it offers best sound quality and hardware effects for a low price. Maybe they were to cheep. I also use Cubase for linear composings and WaveLab for premastering and recording. But I hope Richard is looking for improving ASIO compatibility.
