M-Theory (by UGO) glitched out during a programming session in Orion 8. Chris at UGO has discussed a few of his bugs (usually due to DualCore Processing) with me but this sounds like it could be a toss up between UGO and Orion in my opinion. So, I'm bringing it up to both parties so it can be at least known.
Midi was being sent from Rez3 (Yellow) (Also by UGO) to M-Theory and when the function was disabled the midi from Rez3 (Black) was being sent in its place. I was testing the midi notes in Yellow to see how they would sound in M-Theory with the rest of the work. Once I copied the midi from Yellow I disabled the Midi Receive and noticed that the notes from Black were being sent to M-Theory. I pasted the Midi hoping it would work its way out then I started getting a mixture of the two note sets.
The problem was fixed by stopping playback, although M-Theory continued to reflect the Rez3 (Black) Midi input even after it was stopped, and changing the preset from one to another and then back again.
Again, I'm not sure if this is a UGO bug or an Orion Bug. Sounds like it's the Midi send to me, but it also resembles that DualCore paradox Chris mentioned to me so I figure mention it to both of you and be safe.
Other than this Orion 8.5 is working amazing on my system. If you need any more information please let me know.
Josh

Re: Midi Recieve (8.5)Rez is the same synth but with diff GUI's? maybe they both have the same vst id number (even tho they have diff .dll names) so that might confuse Orion...thye must have the same number actually, otherwise you wouldnt be able to use presets in them both

Re: Midi Recieve (8.5)Yes, its the same instrument just with focus on one color over the other.
Thank you for the info, I'll mention that to Chris next time I talk to him and post back if the id numbers are the same. Though I tend to agree with you it makes a lot of simple sense...usually the hallmark of correct lol
Re: Midi Recieve (8.5)a simple test, can you load presets from yellow into black? if the answer is yes, then they both have the same vst id....im not saying thats what the problem is, but its the only thing i can thing of right now.
having said that, its really no diff than having several instances of any synth...so it prob isnt the problem Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Midi Recieve (8.5)
That's cool it's not like it got in the way of completing the project, I've passed along the info you suggested to the dev. I'm sure he'd be curious because he mentioned that none of his beta testers that he could recall used Orion and as far as he knew Rez3 was pretty much bug free.
