Suspicious Rack ExtensionMy Norton 360 just identified the SYNAPSE DC-2 DUAL CHORUS for Reason`s RackExtensions as a threat and immediately removed the .dll after downloading. Just thought I`d let you know.

Re: Suspicious Rack Extensionnorton...that great anti virus program
seriously, norton is pretty crap, get rid of it. wise to check here of course, but rest assured its fine Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Suspicious Rack ExtensionNorton could be capable of detecting Norton as a virus lol
Re: Suspicious Rack ExtensionNorton is crap for giving false positives? Thanks for the productive advice... you obviously don`t know the purpose of an AntiVirus Protection.
Re: Suspicious Rack Extension
no, its very good at it, which is why no sensible person uses it Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Suspicious Rack ExtensionMicrosoft Security Essentials is great, and free. It's optimized to use very low system resources.
All AV programs throw false positives sometimes though. Brian "balistic" Prince

Re: Suspicious Rack ExtensionNorton really used to be a crappy AV, but it really got a whole lot better, has a good prevention system, but does give a bit more false-positives than the rest. SecondLife client is known to have that issue with it as well. Apart from that, the only really bad thing is that it doesn't really give you any options considering the action you want to take, it just cleans stuff right up without your intervention, so in case of false-positives, you basically have to shut the scanner down or exclude it from the scanning.
MSE can be good with cleaning viruses and other malicious things, but it suck at prevention. Have it on the other computer that my dad uses, needs more frequent scanning since it miss things - especially browser cookies and cache, those things just slip by it. Comodo, on the other hand, is great at prevention (known to stop over 85% intrusions), but cleaning an already infected system can be an issue. You basically can't go wrong with either of these. There is no perfect AV software if you need one. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Suspicious Rack Extension
Now it all makes sense.....Rich is trying corrupt all the Reason installs...... No No I'm just kidding. It's 100% for sure a false positive. I have total faith that Synapse software is safe. Always has been always will be. The fact that no one else has reported the issue should tell us something. Rich may just need to send the file to Norton to have them white list it.........
Re: Suspicious Rack Extension
I used to love Nod32 but then got tired of paying for it every year and just started using the free version of AVG. But you're right none of them are perfect.
Re: Suspicious Rack Extension
The purpose is to protect you from malicious software not to prevent you from using perfectly safe software........just saying.......
Re: Suspicious Rack Extension
And that`s what it does and did perfectly well all the time for me. If that means that there`s a wrong alarm here and there, I couldn`t care less!
Re: Suspicious Rack Extension
Oh yeah, pretty obvious now lol
Re: Suspicious Rack Extension
Ok fair enough. Did you ever get the Dual Chorus installed in Reason? Hopefully Rich or Marcin will be along shortly and address the matter.....
Re: Suspicious Rack Extension
It's all part of the master plan for Orion to dominate the world........
Re: Suspicious Rack Extensionhehe, yes of course...disabled my super duper antivirus stuff right afterwards and installed just fine!
So far I`m really convinced by all the synapse devices, great stuff Sold!
