Re: CTRLR & OrionWhat shows up when you go to Options/Midi In Settings in Orion? What shows when you open the Generator Setting on the CTRLR synth toolbar?
Re: CTRLR & OrionI'm sorry. I do not understand what you are saying........
Re: CTRLR & OrionPlease update your Orion to the newest version 8.5. This update is free for Orion 8 users and is available via User Service Area. After that you shouldn't meet the problem.
Re: CTRLR & OrionOk, could you provide your mid in settings and vst settings?
1) Options -> Midi in settings 2) Synth Toolbar -> Generator Settings Are you sure you have enabled device in midi in settings?
Re: CTRLR & OrionOk, please try those changes:
Midi in settings: please switch to "Advanced" mode (Midi in Mode) VST Settings: please set channel to "Omni" Plugin's global settings: please select checkbox you mentioned on the image by yellow "circle"
Re: CTRLR & OrionPlease firstly uncheck Midi Output for this device and then try to check Midi Input for this device (maby it's some loopback protection).
Re: CTRLR & Orion
What does the Ctrlr/MIDI Settings box look like when loaded in Cubase?
Re: CTRLR & OrionSo in Cubase both the HDSP9632 input in red on the left and HDSP9632 output in green on the right have a checkmark? And you can't get the checkmark on the left in Orion? Is that correct?
Re: CTRLR & OrionWhat happens if you select the HDSP9632 instead of Omni for the Midi In setting?
Re: CTRLR & Orion
I'm out of ideas then. I can't imagine why Orion won't accept the HDSP9632 Midi Input if everything is set up properly.........
Re: CTRLR & Orionyes, it is what i am thinking about.
you can 't use the same device inside the plugin and inside the daw is it working with cubase ? Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Re: CTRLR & OrionOk, I think I know what's going on. The plugin wants to reserve midi device, and to be able to select it, it cannot be in use. So you must deactivate this device in MIDI In settings in Orion. Then you'd be able to activate it via CTRLR.
In Orion please open "Options -> MIDI In Settings". Hold down Ctrl Key and click on your device (so make sure that HDSP9632 is unselected). Then please click "Ok" and open preferences in CTRLR. Then you should be able to use HDSP9632 device. Firstly I was thinking that the plugin just gets midi as from plugin's midi input. But finally it seems that CTRLR reads directly from the device. Please confirm if it works after above steps. Cheers!
Re: CTRLR & Orion
Yeah, I know. But when device is in use by CTRLR there is no way to use it in Orion. Like I said, this vst doesn't read midi input from the host (as should be done), but it reads midi directly from the device (just locking the device). Probably under Cubase you'd get same result. And probably also with this way you cannot use more than one instance of CTRLR for same device. Here need to be used some additional midi software, like midi loopback etc.
