Re: Skinmeister for orion 8.5Thanks for your help cristophe! Getting a different message this time though while trying to open any skin.
Been messing with the configuration settings alot lately and this program sounds like it'd make things a lot easier. Am I the only one having problems with this? You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Skinmeister for orion 8.5
Sorry, but for now this is the quickest tool we've got. The better one is to open cfg files in notepad and do it manually. One other thing. Open the config.xml and remove the \ (the last one) from the Orion path.
That one you'll have to edit in cfg file manually. Suneel forgot to add it Just open maincfg.ini file and look for [EffectColors] section. You should see something like InsertDefault = 230, 240, 250 on the last place. If it's not there, just add the line and change the color (RBG values)... at least I think that's the line
If you're trying to open a skin that's based on V8 Default, you will get that error. There's been a change between Suneel's v1.2.4/1.2.5 and Orion 8.5/8.6beta, and the difference is one button that's now been removed. What you need to do is add it to the maincfg.ini... look for this:
You will also need to copy this attached file to \(SKIN_NAME)\Toolbar\Synth. And now you should have a fully working skin. Also, you could install the 1.2.5 version, it's somewhat made to work with beta version of Orion. 1.2.4 is meant for the retail version. You will find 1.2.5 over at the beta forum, in Skin/Design, 6th topic from the top You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Skinmeister for orion 8.5Thanks hypnagogia, your advice did the trick for everything. Have skinmeister up and running fine and was able to change color for the text just fine. Last question though, would the skins I'm modifying with the newest beta work with Orion 8.5 if I decided to share it here? Am I even aloud to modify someone else's skin and upload a changed version. Thanks. again
Re: Skinmeister for orion 8.5I'm not really sure, but I think they should. The current 8.6beta differs very little (if at all) from the retail 8.5 when it comes to skins. That button was the only difference that I know that was introduced since the retail, but it's removed now. Unfortunately, Suneel made his version in the middle of that transition (before the remove), so Skinmeister is dependent on the file existing inside the skin folders, as well as that line in the ini file.
As for the sharing, I don't know. Can't really say we've had anyone changing someone's skin before. I guess the safest bet would be to try and contact the person and see if they're ok with it. You can use the forum for that - just PM them and see Glad it's all working now, though SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Skinmeister for orion 8.5Awesome Will do that. I know I said last question but something else came up. Is there a way to change the colors or shades of the black and white keys in the piano roll. I tried experimenting in the maincfg.ini but couldn't change anything. Uploaded a photo to clarify what I mean. Would like to distinguish between the black and white keys a little more if possible.
