Looks like it can be done, with percussion samples at least
I've made a wavetable with eight percussion samples in it, including bass drum, snare and hats amongst others.
Here is what a drum loop sounds like with some knob twiddling in DUNE2:

Re: DUNE2 as a sample player..Thanks Marc
I'm working on a few tricks to extend this further. I know that you, in particular, are interested in having sample in DUNE2.
Re: DUNE2 as a sample player..Yes but when I say "samples" I'm thinking more of full blown muti-sampled content...choirs etc. There's only so much information that can be contained in single cycle waves (2048 samples ?)
But again I don't think that's DUNE 2's intended mission.....being a rompler. Anyway, your drum patch is still cool......... The wavetable is technically multi-sampled, each slot in the table has 24 different versions associated with it similar to the oscillators in Alchemy, where each progressive version has fewer higher harmonics in it to reduce aliasing in the higher registers.

Re: DUNE2 as a sample player..
Indeed very cool! By the way, what's the maximum slot number of a wavetable? The manual reports 64, but I just created a wavetable with 128 slots and it still works (only the slot preview list is truncated to the edges of the gui): You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: DUNE2 as a sample player..Yes, 128 here too, with the same chopped off effect.
