Re: Fruit Picking In The RainHey, I'm liking this so far. Thoughts as it plays:
Not crazy about that clap sample, would use something with a tighter attack, personally. The shaker could use a little velocity variation to give it more "groove". I don't know about the lead that comes in about 2:40. Just not digging the looping melody. What about some high-pitched sustained strings instead? Not a chord pad, just long sustained strings, to give a sense of urgency. Otherwise, I like it quite a bit. Feel free to disregard my advice if you don't agree with it. It's all subjective Brian "balistic" Prince

Re: Fruit Picking In The RainThanks for the comments.
I had a re-listen just before I posted this reply and I think the clap works for the way I wanted it to sound. The shaker is a little too robotic (even just a touch of Delay could liven it up a bit). As for the shaker is actually two sample, alternate notes, with some velocity differences, then about 1/4 shuffle. The main lead I am not 100% convinced myself if it should be in this track or not lol. My first draft of this track didn't have the lead, but I knew there was a nice chuck of space available to put something in. Cheers again, always good getting feedback.
