Hi folks!
As the topic already says, I'm looking for good sounding speech synthesizers (that are not too expensive). Some years ago I've heard some AT&T voices which sounded pretty real and nice...
Thanks for your ideas in advance.
Cheers, C

Re: Speech SyntheziserDo you mean Vocoders?
I think Orion may have one built in? An old favourite of mine was the Orange vocoder but that's not made anymore, I think Waves makes one but probably not cheap, and there's another software vocoder that would give those really great 'Cylon' type sounds but cannot think of the name off the top of my head....
Re: Speech Syntheziser
My favourite is TextAloud which have a lot of voices to choose (also AT&T voices included), but when you buy the license you can't use the voices generated with commercial purposes. I contact the developers by email, and they charge an insane amount of money if you want to use it for commercial purposes. This was some years ago, I didn't know if the license rights has changed. "Pleeease, bring back ORION!"

Re: Speech SyntheziserI'm searching for something like dmassive said. Nice speech synth one can use without any license problems.
TextAloud is really nice. But for the AT&T voices any distribution is permitted unless you got a corresponding license. In their forum I've read that a license for AT&T voices is never under 1500 $... One question that probably no one can answer here is: If I edit that speech sound a lot so no one can here if it is from AT&T or so and I distribute my track (commercial or not) - is it also a license break? Damn it. I just want some speech in my track... Re: Speech Syntheziser
Thanks, I'll have a look on this. So far I find the AT&T voices the best. But their licensing values are... Orion 8.6 | DUNE | DUNE 2 | EKS Pro | Hydra | Sylenth1 | Predator | Predator 2 | Blue 2 | Windows 10 Pro | ESI Maya 44 XTE | Oxygen 8 V2 | X-Board 49 | Edirol MA-20D | Sennheiser HD 380 Pro

Re: Speech SyntheziserIn my opinion this is the best:
https://www.acapela-box.com This is not a software you buy instead you pay them per rendered character (of course previewing is free). I use it in each of my tracks. For example this track at 1:30 https://soundcloud.com/mopp-b/empyrel-adm-clip
