Yep, DC offsets are what you should see. Wiggle the position knob to see it move. The wavetable won't make a sound unless it's modulated!

I've had time to check on a different computer now, and it works as it should in Orion. Here is a screen shot showing what the wavetable slot should look like and what the sound looks like in Dust Analyzer.

Slot 32 of the wavetable MH WaveshaperC 25 should be a horizontal line at the top of the window. This will move up and down when you move the WT position knob.

If you don't have this then can you post a screen grab of what you have please?

Pull down the volume on oscillator 1 to check that you still have some sound coming through as the output from Osc2 is that of the pure waveshaping effect on Osc3. Osc1 output is phase modulation of Osc1 by the waveshaping effect.

@Kriminal, I'll answer your question either later or tomorrow. A bit busy to give you a full answer atm.

Are they pure for using when the osc is a mod source? Havent had time to look yet.

You can use oscillators, MSEGs, LFOs and envelopes as mod source. With oscillators you get an audio effect like FM, with the rest you get an effect that should be treated as a modulation source, e.g. use LFO to modulate WS wavetable position and use the output from that to modulate something that you would normally modulate directly with the LFO.

Sorry that is confusing. The three plots at the bottom of the PDF reflect what's really going on!

You lost me there.... what i meant was, is the WT meant to be used when that osc (with the WT loaded) is only used as a mod source, ie its not used a traditional audio source.... i have no idea how a WT works in the MSEG or LFO section.

So, load WT in osc1, and then use osc1 to modulate filter freq etc...???

I see the confusion. I think the best option is to upload some patches that use different sources and destinations as inputs and outputs to the waveshaper/transfer function wavetable so that you can play with those.

I will sort out a tutorial for that as well. It's obvious to me why it works, but then I've been working on the idea for a while and I see now that it's not an obvious thing.

Has anyone tried out these transfer function wavetables? Please, let me know if you are having trouble understanding how to use them!

I thought that might be the case. I think a small tutorial is in order!

I'm working on some graphics that will hopefully help. It takes a bit of time though :)
