If so, then you better dig out those pink poor boy sunglasses and leather ties before you check out '2891'

And if it really gags you with a spoon, blame Kriminal for that preset that inspired this.
(Like dude, you're such a bad influence,,, Oh my god, M+M was originally Marth & The Muffins, and like Marshall Mathers is melt in your mouth gay then? When's Fingerprintz coming to town anyways? )

Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?Steven,
just listened to all of your tracks. I really like them! They are happy and bring people into a good mood. Nice ones!
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?Thanks Dazoid! After the severe bum trip of Geopoliticking, and all my weird experiments of past. I'm determined to 'sell out' in the most Chumbawamba way possible now. :superlol:
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?Which instument is this siren at the beginning of 'You got it going on'. Starting @ 00:09? I heard an instrument that sounds almost the same in a song called Journey (Aphex Twin Care Mix) from Gentle People.
By the way. My favourite one is 'Olife'. Last edited by DaZoid on Wed Jan 28, 2009 8:53 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?That's (2891) great Steven. Where is the "sax" from? And how do you create your melodies? BTW, I liked Geopoloiticking. Day one though, hmmmm, a bit dull. You got it going on...you've got to keep that going on - love it!!!! Very funky. I presume that's you singing. Though I think you should drop the distortion on the BD a fair amount where you crank it up. 2791, some nice sounds in there, but again somewhat dull - it's a great backing - just needs your (or someone else's) voice doing something over the top - actually just like Day one. Olif, pumping up the brass would work for me. Filo - pastry at it's best. I could imagine Orbital making a nice pie with that! Where are the drums from?
Please take comments in good faith. I wish I had 1 % of the talent you have Steven.
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?There's that Aphex guy again. But seriously, the sound was done with Yava 2 from Krakli. And for some strange reason Ian's abandoned it? But a truely awesome modular synth. Even put 'glissando' on it for me, the super nice guy that he is.
And Olif - I was on some Stereolab kick that day. I think it was because of this 'choir.SF2' I came across. And as soon as I played the chord, I felt like Tim Gane. Filo as well, inspired by this nasty bootleg of Stereolab I got. I think this one tune on it was 'live' - but so nastily distorted. But had this unique quality because of it. So out came OP's Analog distortion for that one. You may get 'Iflo' and 'Foli' there in future... 4 songs that led way to 'Day One', and they're the ones more popular!  - thanks for listening and liking. That's what I'm in it for. Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?They're all songs I'd happily listen to again. What I miss I guess is you singing over the top of them instrumentals.
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?Appreciate that Mark. I've put the call out to several singers who have offered or accepted to give me their services... But have since buggered off. (Damn Divas!) But I'm still shopping around and hopefully things will congeal at some point.
The problem with me singing is A: I hate singing, and B: I inevitably write these doom and gloom mind fuck lyrics like 'Isn't it wonderful, we are all going to die. Save and keep every coupon, just to prove that you did try...' It's like I'm out to make Morrisey use up a box of Kleenex or something? And if I attempt to write 'happy and gay' lyric's - I just can't take them seriously. Maybe they're up there with Leonard Cohen, or lower than Billy Ray Cyrus' - but that's when i slide them by other singers and say 'can you do this, or something like it...?' And that's when they come up with something even more happy and gay. Then I can look at it as 'Big Gay Al's Big Gay Musical Experiment'. Maybe I can get Mr. Slave still...? (....oooh jesus! jesus christ!)
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?There's always those text-to-speech programs and a vocoder!
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?I'll have to listen to it when I get home from work and in between playing with Yava 2 again. I'd almost forgotten about that beasty.
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?It's a 'secret weapon' for sure! And can't understand why Ian's abandoned it? I've been 'out of the loop' - so maybe he's put it elsewhere? Not the prettiest or easiest to navigate and create on - but the features on that ting is what gets me.
As for Touch Me, the 'vocals' were all done on this free software called 'Speakonia' that Cuppa introduced me to. It's basically an enhanced version of MS SAM, but has a good array of voices to choose from. As simple as the voice may sound in the song - I had to play around with linguistics and phonetics for some time. So the lyrics actually look something like 'ewe. Can tawch my-bawdy' - Just like Mariah Carey writes here lyrics.
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?
Ha, ha, quality. I think given the lyrics this could only get better if it was sung by Stephen Hawking
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?Dungeon
re. Toch me. Did you read my post about Touch Me. It could easily make it on one of the Dr. Luv CD compilations. The track is superb! Exept for the vocals still being in the corner somewhere of the back room. see link here: http://forum.synapse-audio.com/viewtopic.php?id=3837 GK Last edited by DaZoid on Fri Jan 30, 2009 2:01 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Hey kids, do you remember the 80's?I'm really surprised that the lyrics were made with Spekonia?!?!?!?!?
Bloody hell. I had a nice French woman with brunette hair in a glitter red dress in my head when I listened to the song. How do you implement breaks between the sentences? Or did you cut the vocals afterwards and threw them into the sampler?
