There is a lot of stuff that you can improve-add in orion.
Just tell us when we start for version 9

There's definitely one thing that can be done and would close the gap to the "big" names on the market. <<Make Orion more visual.>> I know one can argue that it doesn't make a difference as it depends on listening in the end. But I think that many people think of a virtual studio is more mature and professional when it comes with a lot of visual elements. Besides of that, it can make a difference to work with visuals. It can give people a better understanding of what is happeing and how things work. E.g. having ADSR of drum rack visible when changing it. I personally can live without it but I think it makes a difference for many users looking for a solution on the market. Last edited by DaZoid on Tue Feb 10, 2009 2:56 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Seriously, then start to port Orion to Mac. Mac lacks a VST hosting virtual studio. There you won't share market with FL.

The Mac has been discovered by idiots now, which means you get the same issues as under Windows. By that I mean you face piracy and total noobs now, the Mac elite which buys every plugin or host that exists and knows what they're doing seems to be a vanishing minority. Other than that I agree though, basically there's just Cubase and Live now, with Logic gradually fading away and PT being unusable as a virtual studio from what I read. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

That would be acceptable but not preferable. I'd like a window that's always tied to the same short cut, like the time window. As against having to go via the generator window. [Nothing]
OrionHey Rich, you still havent created that LFO wave creator/generator for making fucked up waveforms that can then be loaded into the user wave slot that was to replace the noise/random wave slot on all of your creations.
Did we not agree on this in the distant past? MORE LFO WAVES MORE LFO WAVES Modulate me woodju ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq

OrionI'm seeing alot of this too now. People with or with knowledge of all these other suites, and want OP to 'be as good or better'. As much as I wish Roland synths could be like Yamaha in certain ways, or vice versa - I was glad to have both. Floors me in the software realm 'the haves and have mores' these days.
Though the ideas that Cubase and 'big names' don't have - keep those coming. But I guess everything is getting so close in competition these days, maybe it's hard to differentiate who's got what now, and who's getting what tomorrow? As long as Orion remains on the K.I.S.S. principle for the most part, I'm happy. What I really could go for right now is a drink!

Hard to estimate, but a ton, and not a good time for the switch for technical reasons too (several plugin formats competing, AU, VST2.4, VST3, then probably OS changes and 64-bit becoming an issue on the Mac as well). On Windows, at least DX is as good as dead, which essentially means just 1 format to support for most plugin developers, which is a good thing. If only Apple were reasonable and dropped this inferior AU nonsense format or simply supported VST in GarageBand and Logic, the world would be a better place. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Orionaaaah yes but we must consider the sheep. (no offence sheep)
The visual impact is probably 75% of the battle. Check out the Japanese market - $1.00 items in $10 worth of flash EYE catching packaging. Trippy but effective. Eye candy attracts people. I personally care not (got suckered in to this program 9 or 10 years back and was more than happy to move the cabled beasties to the cupbourd) but am certain it will have an impact on sales of this product. I work in commecial upholstery (top end designer stuff up to AUD$125.00/m) and we even see higher sales treends when the magazine ads are crazy leftfield imagery, compare to a nice picture of a chair. Rich - I know its expensive - but you gotta spend a buk to make a buk - you need more full page ads like your Hydra ad and I am sure a more futuristic or colorful interface for the fx boxes will go a long way for your prosperity. luv me ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq

Would it help if they were pulled from a WAV file? That would be the easiest solution, not sure if it's of any use to you. Admin - Synapse Audio Software
