I'm looking for a tool that will help me in the process of making multisample sound sets. Usually when I make a sound useing sampler or kontakt, I will use a single .wav file usually in the pitch of C4. I realize this is very simplified. I was looking at a more professional sound in Kontkt and a multisample will consist of several wav files mapped in an order usually C2,F2,B3,E3,A3,D4,G4,C5,F5,B5,E6,A6.
Thats 12 diffrent wav files mapped to make one sound.
I was wondering if a program exists that would make this process quicker. For instance it could take a single wav file then make a multisample set in the above pitches and then time stretch them to match the original root file.
Anybody know of a program that can do this?Moderators: Christophe, Mark

Anybody know of a program that can do this?Sampler can do that, as I recall. But, I don't think you can use it's file (.osp) anywhere other than in the Sampler.
I don't know about Kontakt files. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Anybody know of a program that can do this?are you saying that you want to:
1. take your single wave file (usually at C4) 2. generate from the C4 sample, a set of samples at C2, F2, B3, etc.. 3. timestretch each of those samples to be the same length. If so, this is not the way to a more realistic/professional/quality sound. Know that C3 has half the frequency of C4, and C5 is twice. That's a lot of shifting and stretching. Best to just get multiple samples to begin with. Last edited by V/M on Sun Mar 22, 2009 6:09 am, edited 1 time in total.
Anybody know of a program that can do this?Absolutely. A multisampled set based on a single sample will not sound any better at all. In fact, if you start time-stretching it, it is likely that it will sound worse than simply using the root sample.

Anybody know of a program that can do this?Orion can do this easily...
It'll auto-detect the note names in files and map accordingly. You can also slice 1 wav file into many individual samples and have them auto-mapped as well. I haven't build any multisampler programs manually in years, because Orion does it with 1 click If you need to convert the finished OSP to another format, use AWave which can read multisampled Orion OSP files and write to a lot of popular other formats, such as SF2.
