When synth arrangements based on classical music (made by Wendy Carlos and Isao Tomita) came out in the early seventies, I was very excited about those records. It's amazing thing that those records were produced without sequencers and played by hand (with multi track tape recorders of course).
But I couldn't even dream about that I my self could one day try something similar.
Then Orion came out and my dream had come true.
Here is my first try.
Comments are welcome.

Classical music instrumentation made with Orion synthslovely. Good arrangement/instrumentation. I definitely hear the Tomita influence there. I believe he did this song, I'll have to check when I get home.
Classical music instrumentation made with Orion synths Nice one ! The original from Debussy is awesome but yours is nice too ! If you like Claude debussy you 'll like David Bedford ! This one is also a very special composer !

Hi V/M! Tomita achieved great success with his album 'Snowflakes are Dancing' (1974) . It included arrangements based on the music of Debussy, My instrumentation is strictly based on the original piano score by Debussy, but Tomita took liberties to make quite free arrangements, he added extra accompaniment, chords, parts, effects etc. The result did sound very innovative. (Tomita used Moog III and multi track tape recorder, today he could do the same thing with Orion a much easier )
Thanks Tubular, I think that Debussy is one of the best composers of all time.
Thanks Eklectro! Maybe the lead part is a little bit over stressed in high clef. I have to explore further the sound possibilities of Orion synths. I hadn't listened Tomita's records for years. But after listening them I decided to try to make some more instrumentations based on classical music. It's so fun. Though it takes a lot of work to find right sounds and to get correct balance between the synths, sounds and all. The nature of classical music is very sensitive. Automation features of Orion really are usable in this kind of style. Luckily Orion can also handle tempo changes in a very elastic way, that too is absolutely necessary in classical style.
Classical music instrumentation made with Orion synthsVery nice! I would have to agree that there are a couple of points when the lead goes up high where you could bring it down in the mix, but overall a nice piece of work.
Classical music instrumentation made with Orion synthsI listen to Flaxen Interesting I could hear the Tomita Influence for sure. I have the Pianist series from PG Music series. They no longer sell it. But it had about 960 piano midi classical pieces. By everyone well known. Most of them were played in by Valerie Tyl a Canadian Pianist. If you don't have it I can send it to you. They don't sell it any more so as far as I am concerned it's freeware.
Classical Pianist is the title. But it would be interesting to see what dub would sound like applied to these. I am still learning how to create different production personalities. Keep up the great job.
