Not that there are many doubts about Orion's efficiency...It's f***ing stunning. I've got all sorts of stuff in my collection, and Orion beats seven shades of living cr@p out of all of it in terms of stability, useability and low CPU usage. I actually started laughing a little too much when I installed it on my ancient, clockwork laptop and managed to run loads of instances of Toxic III without the thing melting.
My guess is that Rich and Jouni have somehow worked out how to get additional CPU cycles each second through some weird quantumn effect that no-one else has ever heard of.

simple. alient technologies always seem to be so far ahead of yours. My last 2 projects wound up at 32 and 36 channels + fx on pretty much each ch. My meter started to report up to 18% at the end. It was concerning me as the jump from 12 to 18 was only at the very end............I had recorded each midi track out and returned the audio and deleted the midi part. I run the studio on a quad core with 4GB of 1600 ram stuff. You know. ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq
Not that there are many doubts about Orion's efficiency...never was the time better for orion.
no reason anymore for 40 wave-tracks in a host and the associated fixedness. now we have the power with x-core cpu's and thanks god a stable orion. and a very good support! i hope this resides in future Not even 2 years ago i was often frustrated about all the crashes in the old orion... I hope orion 8 is just as stable how orion since v7.5
Not that there are many doubts about Orion's efficiency...Jacob,
which CPU are you using? I'm about to get a QuadCore CPU today. My recent project hits the 70% mark bus only has a few instances of Minimonsta and max. 10 instruments are in the project. The Minimonsta play heavy chords. That might push the CPU to that high amout.

Quad-core Q6600 (Dell XPS420 I bought in Dec 07). Works like a champ! /.j Phreque.com - Weapons-Grade Awesome.
Not that there are many doubts about Orion's efficiency...I suppose you use the multi core audio engine?

Not that there are many doubts about Orion's efficiency...Then it's the "wonder" of multi threading in combination with the right hardware (4 processors)

Not that there are many doubts about Orion's efficiency...And the wonder of properly programmed multi-threading Even Torq uses more CPU on avg than OP!
