Centaurus AI would be very pleased if you could give me some comments on "Centaurus A" at
www.myspace.com/auraltask Of course, it is completely made in Orion (+ a little bit of Sylenth1). Unfortunately the audio quality of MySpace is very poor. What do you recommend as alternative if I would like to have your honest opinion on a song?
Centaurus Areally good porno funk. could do with a bit of eq work to clear up some conflicting frequencies in the bass area. the sound overall is very nice IMO
Centaurus ANice! (Although agreed on the porno soundtrack comment.)
Which brings me to my next point. Old MacDonald had two sexy animals on his farm. What animals, you ask? Brown chicken brown cow. And yes. Yes I went there. Last edited by epilogue on Wed Jun 03, 2009 10:11 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Phreque.com - Weapons-Grade Awesome.
Centaurus AWhoa - hold on guys! Since when did R+B and soul become 'porno funk?' Barry White is rolling in his grave (or at least getting on his side to fart...) at these comments.
AuralTask - this is some sweet soulful grooves to cruise around the streets of Philly, Chicago, hell - even Detroit! Without resorting to 'porno music', there is a true sexiness to what you got going on here. I saw the masters of soul like White, Mayfield, Gaye, Neville while listening to this. Damn, I'm listening to it again, it's THAT good! I'm listening on my monitors here, and the only fault I can find with your mix is that it's at 128kbs by the sounds of it? You get this on a 192 or higher, I'd bet it'd sound sweet through and through. 2 words for you to Google my man - Dance Industries You deserve to be there at 192.

well, porno-funk is not an insult. It's more like saying it's super-sexy in a swanky-pink-cadillac-n-fur sort of way.
Centaurus AThank you very much for the encouraging feedback!
@Icaro: I also see the problem with the bass frequencies and will work on it. Thank you for the hint. @DungeonStudio: Thank you for the words. I'm very glad you like it! @all: I do not understand the porno-thing as an insult. In fact, I like the association of cruising around in Detroit in a furry pink cadillac with a brown chick on board. For my part I would only like to skip the brown cow in this situation...

when did R+B become something that is absolutely NOT 'Rhythm and Blues' ? Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Ever since Top Of The Pops and Solid Gold had Peaches & Herb lip sync to one another 'Reunited' is when R+B was born IMHO. I don't mind 'Rock and Roll' getting cut down to 'Rock', or 'Rythem And Blues' getting hornswaggled into 'R+B' for Billboard charts. And not that there's anything 'bad' with real 'porno funk' either. I just think AuralTask is on a new tip here, and deserves a more 'gentile' label. But banging junk ferociously while this plays.... Damn straight!
Centaurus AVery nice track !! Maybe you could put a sax or a guit melody on it , but perhaps this will could make too much " cliché " ! But even like that your track is good anyway !
Centaurus AI think you'd be right Tos. It conjures up great soul singers when I hear it, but if AuralTask did find someone who could sing like Ottis Redding to Mariah Carey.... That'd be too much as well.
One of those songs that makes you 'think' it's got sax and singers and all that. But just cool 'as is'.
Centaurus ADungeon ? Do you really hear it as a Rythm'n Blues track ? ... i think this is more in a Lounge style instead !... When i love a track like this one , i really like to play (trying to play )and improvise with my guit on it ! I've chosen the sound i had used at the end of my track : Platinum's lounge ... this sound could fit well on it .. i guess !
Centaurus ANot R+B per say, nor would I say Lounge? It's just got this real soulful vibe to it? It could play well anywhere IMHO. Cruising, dancing, doing the nasty, chillin', trippin' - one song fits all, and this is it. Or a damn close facsimile.
Centaurus AAgain, thank you very much for the motivating words.
@tubular tos: concerning your idea with sax/guitar: here you touch a weak point - I really have difficulties to decide if this song is ready.
Centaurus A I'll try to show you in private a short extract soon as possible ..if you are ok of course
Centaurus AIn case that you are interested, here is the song in a bit better quality:
