Newish songs from me.too many songs on your page mark! i picked "Quatre sur une ligne" randomly. hey you know some changes to this and it can be a groovy techno beat.
-i would add some hard drums that enforce the bassline -also better kick with hi end -remove that melody paa-paa paa-paa, eg around 3:13. doent need to be in the mix -add another melody in rythmic pattern to the bassline also checked out "simple harmonic motion(ambi mix)", sounds interesting. -i think you need to add some reverb to make it more spatial. -remove that square wave coming at 2:55 ,it has a slight detune and more suited for video game -also some presets sound non-organic, i think for ambi you want more organic your tunes remind me of eat static. i think you use wavefusion a lot?
Newish songs from me.13 songs is a lot? Suneel must'still be using EP CD's and 45's? :superlol:
But great stuff for the few I listened to. The Yaz one is nice, but without Alison's vocals - just doesn't sound the same. I really liked Blackberry (as in the RIM device?) If you'd like, I could do up some Kraftwerk vocals and send them to you to interject. Ala; "I'm entering a query to my knowing Blackberry... I am texting. I'm receiving... Finding anything is the best, as I'm pressing down my GPS...." etc. Paranoia is great too, as I'm one of the ultimate John K. fans. But I'd say you need to pump those samples up a bit and/or edit them a bit better to get those 'hideous underleg noises' more prominent. Great stuff Mark! Newish songs from me.
what i meant is for review. you know more songs, fewer comments specific to individual tracks.
Newish songs from me.I hear ya. But I don't think Mark expects one to listen to all in one go.
Newish songs from me.Have not listened to them all yet, but I really liked Simple Harmonic Motion. Will check out more soon.
Newish songs from me.Thanks for the comments!
Suneel, I hear you about the number of songs, although I wasn't expecting you to listen to and make a critique on all 13. Mind you, if you do, your comments are always welcome, well reasoned and helpful. I agree with your comment about the melody. I felt a bit uncomfortable with it too. I'll look to change that and incorporate your other good suggestions. ANd yes, I do count WaveFusion as one of my go to synths. Really pleased with the Eat Static refernece. Thanks. Steven, I tried to get Alison in but she felt she couldn't do justice to the mix The Blackberry song wasn't inspired by the RIM device (he said rim, he, he!) although I do have a Blackberry Storm, rather an ex-girlfriend (don't ask), but I like your idea for the vocals. Go ahead. I've always wanted vocals on some of my tracks and neither I nor Alison feel that we were up to the job. I'll get to work some more on Paranoia. Again, I'm always appreciative of your comments. Constructive and motivational. Borion, which version of SHM did you like? Again, thanks guys. It's the positive comments that help you get back on the horse after you've fallen off yet again.
Newish songs from me.No probs Mark. I'll shoot you a PM when I'm done. Won't have quite the 'Moyet Flare', but at least will make Ralf Hutter giggle.
I just noticed now that you list a TX81Z below. Are you still using that?
Newish songs from me.Hi Steven,
Got your PM. Thanks. Looking forward to hearing what you've come up with ! Just send the file over as is. I have a 20 Mb file size limit per email on my account. TX81Z is still getting used. It's a nice synth. I like the way it has waveforms other than the normal sine. I've also got an FB-01 but haven't used that since the TX came to town. I also got a Roland MKS-50 not long back. Having lots of fun with that too!
Newish songs from me.Wow, king of the oldies but goldies! MKS-50, a Roland sequencer wasn't it? You're a madman my man!
I'll sse if I can park the voices somewhere and send you a link. Pretty simple stuff. but sure you'll have fun with it. Warp, bend and mutilate to your hearts desire.
Newish songs from me.Close Steven, it's a rackmount version of the Alpha Juno-2. Indeed an oldie and a goldie.
Newish songs from me.Wow! That's news to me. MKS, huh? Better get myself to the synth museum for a gander.
