Giving the Edirol Orchestra a whirl, and had to spruce up this ol' lichee chestnut. For all the grief the intial Junglist causes me to this day in OP, it's still a power house ass kicking bass.

At War With Junglistsome nice sounds, with the vocoder, but needs maybe a bit more filtering IMO...
mastering sounds nice (good investment ) the drums are cool and fluids nice chord progression sweet, but not a "hit" to me. thx for sharing Orion 8, Live 8Le, Cubase 4 LE, Cantana, APC40, UC16, Fostex PM1MKII, Q9550, 4G0, 1,5T, 22"+15"

At War With Junglistok here goes
-i like the bassline. throw in some more notes for variations across the mix. this bassline reminds me of jackson's thriller. -yeah that vocoder needs work. sounds like an old soundfont. -your pads have a problem. musical structure wise they are fine, but its the presets, they get downed in the mix. choose a warmer preset with more mids, so that they have more emphasis in the mix. add hall reverb to them overall its leaning towards organic and pleasing
At War With JunglistThanks guys. It's really more of a 'proving ground' song for VST instruments and effects. The supposed 'vocoder' is actually the Delay Lama plug merged with Ethnosphere. If you guys haven't scored Delay Lama yet, it's a fun free plug. (probably still kicking around KVR) But yeah, the strings go through DB Glitch, Phutboy, DFX stuff, and lord knows what else. So definately makes it hard to keep 'up there'. But it's that Junglist bass that's so 'Quincy fat and narly' that keeps me coming back to Trinity for another test.
At War With Junglisti knew abt Delay Lama a couple of years back. but just recently i used it for a game map. i wish they allowed automation of the xy slate with the mouse motion, makes for more natural sounds. now you can only do it with the evt editor by setting the values (with mouse of course).
At War With JunglistBut when you Copy/Paste mono notes from another generator to it and go at it in record mode with a PB wheel, that's where it really comes to life. Heck, even just use the LFO Tool really crazily on CC 12, 13, etc. But yes, it is a drag that one can't just do it from the pad, would make life a lot easier.
At War With Junglistah pb wheel...must try that sometime
At War With JunglistSuneel - I owe you thanks for all this talk about Delay Lama. I went back and looked at the CC controls, and actually had them mapped wrong. Anyhow I painstakingly redrew them in their proper areas, and the voice sounds more of the composite interplay. Still cheesy, but more interesting at least. I should make a video for it just off my OP screen, cause that little guy makes me laugh when he's singing. :superlol:
Intro One - forgive my ignorance, but what the hell is 'psytrance' anyways? Give me some examples, and I'll see what I can do. As far as I knew, this was a Bon Jovi song gone horribly wrong.
At War With JunglistIntro One - turns out I was doing 'PsyTrance' 7 years ago. Check out my 'Swank On Wheels'. Kinda 'metal' at first, then you go through the 'acid tunnel', and by the time the train emerges - it's 'psytrance' the rest of the way.
And here I was thinking it was just 'colorful'.
At War With Junglisti like that plugin. lil more organic instead of square wave would have been better. yeah its cool to see the monk cry with the changing xy, unique plugin.
At War With JunglistYes, it was the start of Vocoloid and Cantor and all - but they're not half as amusing in operation. The only other plug that's great when it's in 'full automated motion' is Slapmeisters 'SlapClap' (Tres Triple X, but great sound like no other! )
At War With JunglistSteve,
Like the strings and the ultimate journey of this track. -Orion-Emu 1616 -Korg Triton Extreme - Ibanez - Vox Tone Labs.
At War With JunglistThanks Joe-Joe. I was going to redo them all with my swank Orchestra, but wound up leaving them as is in the end. If you haven't got them already, I strongly recommend searching for 'Cadenza Strings'. Free SF2's that are really superb IMHO.
At War With JunglistSweet I ll do a seach on thoes strings.
