Who Makes there own Samples? Some of the best stuff I've captured has been just from recording while setting up or tearing down the take's setup - it puts you come up with situations you wouldn't normally forsee, and capture them in doing so.

Who Makes there own Samples? That's true. For me, the glitchy drum sounds I use many times is from a desoldered EPROM within my MU100R. First I was pissed, then I thought 'wait, sample this stuff!' And then I got it fixed.... umpteen times (the worst designed rack Yamaha has made, overheats in seconds!) BUT - for all the glitch effects and samples out there, no one has come close to my unique drum sounds.... Yet.
One other thing I should point out to Joe-Joe et al. Don't be ashamed of your sample 'sources'. They don't have to be recorded in a anechoic chamber with high end stereo mics. Sometimes the worst formats are the best. My Analogistic CD's samples were all from cassettes if truth be known. Hissy and garbled and all, but gave the CD it's true warmth and uniqueness IMHO. So even if you sample a Bosendorfer grand piano with a cheap Casio mic, and a jet flying over. That could be a more sought after sound than some 6GB Kontakt Grand Piano. You never know?
