i have to say orion is greatI just recently tried Orions demo out and found its hardware style work flow to be easy to manage and without the cable clutter of real hardware or its virtual counterpart. So I said humm, $99.00 well that doesn't sound bad. So I decided to go for it. I have Cubase studio 4 and fl studio 8 and reason 3. I like Cubase but its too clumsy for fast midi work, and I tend to find fl studio a bit awkward and slow to embrace new things like proper multi processor support and 64 bit operation, and that mini me mixer annoys me to no end. I like Reason but the time in between development cycles for what is made available seems way to long and way to pricey, and the sequencer is even more annoying if that's even possible. I have to say Orion has been a fast efficient and realy great sounding app, and i look foward to seeing what orion 8 brings.
i have to say orion is greatI agree completely. After sitting on the fence for a loong while, I decided to come around to buy Orion today. 99 $ really gives you very good bang for the buck. I hope therefore to be more active in the Orion community from now on.
i have to say orion is greatWelcome aboard both! Yes Orion is a steal.
i have to say orion is greatWelcome, welcome
Weeeeeeeeeeee...... I'm not the only one. God, I still remember that pain trying out FL. Working with it is all... I don't know.... screwed up, the mixer sucks to no end.... I just remember finding like a zillion things that bothered me, and I just ended up deleting it. :hihi: With Orion, it just hit off. I used to make an entire CD in just two months. Mind you, that was in the beginning, and the songs on those greately lacked technically. It got all better in time. But the point is, I haven't done one song with FL back then. i have to say orion is greatWell done Sipher, and welcome, you're home now
i have to say orion is greatWelcome Sipher. I too stuck with hardware for as long as possible. Seeing Orion, I thought it was a great addition to my synths and such. But it's SO great, my poor old gear is collecting dust now.
$99 to kill thousands of dollars and kilo's worth of hardware. Damn those efficient Germans!
i have to say orion is greatHypnagogia, i know that feeling it has that cobbled together hack patch feel to it. It doesn't feel like a a unified piece of software. And thanks for the warm welcome guys. Btw dungeon studio, I still do miss some of my modules but its just so hard to go back to using them, and miss my old mks 50; I could make that thing do back flips. Its had to believe that about 10 to 12 years ago the cost of Orion would have been a decent patch cable now its the entire studio.

i have to say orion is greatOh I hear you Sipher. Just got a Yamaha TG500 and RM50 racks before getting OP. Always wanted them, and they are damn solid racks for synths and drums to this day still. But those little LCD screens, and/or Librarians and Sysex editors. And the MIDI, and the cables, and the mixer....
I don't think I ever enjoyed that aspect of hardware. Just did it out of necessity really. And don't you worry, someone's coming out with a MKS 50 and/or a TG500 VSTi for $49.95 at some point.
i have to say orion is greatI don't miss the tiny lcd screens, the studio spaghetti or the librarian software. Though vst versions of those synths qould be outstanding.
i have to say orion is greatThe Korg VST Collection is really nice I must say. Though I never cared much for Korg for some reason? I used a PolySix to great extent in the 80's, but never really liked it's sound or found it reliable?
But it was definately distinct in tone. I really like Rolands sound, but never liked their interfaces much. And Yamaha seemed to be the best of both worlds for me. But aside from the FM7 and CS80 VST's, which are exceptional - and Krim's Omaha CS emulation and a few others out there. There really isn't a lot in the way of Yamaha recreations? Considering they were one of the first to allow user samples combined with FM, self oscillating dual digital filters, dual stereo outs, phtsical modeling... Lord, how I'd love a really good virtual MU128 rack. All the great XG waves, physical and analog modeling, insert and send effects, and A/D inputs to those effects AND VH Vocoder/Harminization capabilties! I think I'd chuck out 100 VST's if something like that came out. And it's the one piece of hardware I still use to this day.
i have to say orion is greatI agree, Orion is a great program. Actually, after 4 years using FL Studio and some months getting familiar with Orion's demo, I just bought Orion half an hour ago. So this year, new pc and new host for me, so hopefully new album too.
Orion has exactly most I liked in my previous host and most I missed, so I hope it will be the force that boosts my creativity, a bit stagnant lately.
