i have to say orion is greatI've been a long-time KvR user actually, but since I started making music in 2003 I can swear I used FL Studio most of the time and Energy XT the rest of the time, but never Orion. But hereby I declare I've become an Orion user.
i have to say orion is greatWelcome new fellows!:hut:
That's exactly what Orion has done to me, from the really beginning. To me Orion and workflow with it has been intuitive and inspiring, flexible and straightforward tool without all kind of bells and whistles. With Orion I can realize my musical ideas in a fast and flexible way. Working with Orion has always been a really pleasure to me as a musician.Orion has the best piano roll there is, I really like to work with it, it's big and clear. Piano roll of FLstd was a real pain to me, not to mention the one in Reason. I've tried FLstd, but it just isn't my cup of tea. (I confess, I own the license of the Producer Edition, but I've never finished the song with it). There comes very impressive demo songs with it, but they are all made with XXL edition. So if you want to get the most out of it, you have to spend $299 for XXLedition. Orion's price is $99 (79 euros) With that price, practically, in my opinion, Synapse is giving Orion away almost for free... With that price you get comprehensive music production tool, the whole virtual studio with synths, sampler, mixer etc.etc. It has got all I've needed for my creative musical ambitions so far. I could not imagine my self using any other software. Last edited by baroquerion on Thu Aug 06, 2009 1:28 pm, edited 1 time in total.
i have to say orion is greatAgreed. I compose primarily on piano roll and Orion's is the best I have tried. Other more expensive DAWs just appear to offer me worse functionality and a pile of samples and loop tools I probably will never use.
i have to say orion is greatI am not even two weeks into Orion and I have almost finished an entire track with it. The GUI is just so self explanatory in so many ways.
i have to say orion is greatFor all the other programs I've seen and tried, or watch others use and work - OP is so cool with it's GUI. It's really 'modular' when you think about it, but thankfully you don't have to 'draw cables' to everything. Look at the strips - EQ, Inserts, Send Levels, Bus feeds all at a glance. Make anything play from anything by simply selecting 'Receive MIDI from...' and so on. I can do more in OP in 5 minutes than people can on Cubase or Garageband in a week. And to me, it all comes out the same in the end. So OP is half the work.
