Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!Moderators: Christophe, Mark Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!
i don't have time to use your midwife but yes it would be great to have RPN/NRPN ! thanks Mark Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!
Reducing the size of the knobs sound fine. If you decide to set fixed number´s of CCs to be chosen (per menu, number of CC 5, 10, 15 etc. for example), it would be smart if the sizing of the knobs would depend on the amount of the controllers. RPN/NRPN sounds also great. Exactly, any kind of midi-implementation sounds interesting for me "I need more details."
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!@ Teksonik
The reaper plugin does not work here. You can load it but there is no possibility to define to which port the Midi Messages are to be sent. You also cannot route it to Orion's Midi Out because it is implemented as an FX, not as an instrument. Did anybody of you manage to get it work? http://soundcloud.com/chris-qhq/moonshine

Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!Oh ok sorry I've never actually used the Reaper plugin......no need for it. Maybe Mark can give it a go. I know he's got tons of outboard gear.
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!I'll have a look at the Reaper plug. Not had much time to work on Midwife recently, but have done bits here and there. Hope to have an update out within a week. Oh, and I might have a synth or two coming before Xmas though that depends on whether or not I can tear myself away from my new toy.... erm synth
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module! What new synth?
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module! Not exactly new, but technically it will be for me. Hoping it arrives tomorrow. It's this little baby:
http://chameleon.synth.net/english/index.shtml A programmable DSP rack unit. It has seven synths and seven effects all together, plus you can roll your own, although the learning curve is quite steep I imagine, but I'm prepared to give it a go! I'll start by tinkering with some of the code that is available for it, changing filters and putting in my own oscillators etc.
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!Or did you mean what synth am I making? I'm working on some oscillator waveshaping ideas atm
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!really?

I'll send it along to you for criticisms before I let it loose
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!
I´m glad to hear that. I´m a bit unpatient but don´t wanted to be rude by asking for midwife´s progress "I need more details."
Re: Midwife - A souped up MIDI Out module!I'm also very excited to see the next update! If it is able to save the settings you are my hero!
