Re: Trance ClapQuite frankly, I'd call that unnecessary, and that 9th step of that tutorial doesn't really make sense to me. Gating a trail so it doesn't clutter the mid frequencies? I don't really know how Reason works, but as it's written (even in that partial form), it would only make sense if they Gated it in something like Orion's BandFX container, where you can assign effects to a specific frequency range. I don't really understand from that description (though it's only a part of a tutorial, it seems) how and where exactly did they define what mid frequencies are. Furthermore, clap will always be in the mid-high mid range, along with bunch of other stuff you throw in it, so to get to process just the reverb trail to that amount to make it less audible is ridiculous to the point where you might simply be better off without it.
But if you're looking to follow that specific tutorial, I guess you could use the Return channel for that. Add a reverb to one of the Sends, then on the Return channel in Master section for that Send add a Gate effect. I guess you could try with a sidechained compressor too. And don't follow the values given in that article, they are usually completely useless. Tweak around and see what's best for your work. My advice is to add reverb if you need it and use EQ further down the chain. You can basically EQ the trail to make it less intrusive in the specific frequency range - doing it on the Send's Return channel. Or you could just sample the reverbed clap, load it in Sampler and work with amplitude envelopes. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Re: Trance ClapSample the clap
Load it into sampler Use envelope to cut tail. Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Trance ClapWhich magazine is this tutorial from?
Re: Trance Clapi would say Computer Music
Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Re: Trance Clap
I am not with you, 9 th step is important for Cut Tail of Reverb Clap. I think sampler tweek is post work[ Unnecessary]. ** Today, I solved It my own way. I have just Download a free vst Auto Gate and take place it 2nd place after Plate Reverb. I Adjust it's Hold, Release, Threshold, Attack Knob and it's work. http://www.tunescoop.com/play/313531333433/clap-wav This is CM tutorial for Trance Master Class. Re: Trance ClapCan you cite the source then next time please and preferably link back to the website where you got it from? You're breaking copyright otherwise, unless, of course, Computer Music say that their tutorials are freely distributable, which I doubt.

Re: Trance ClapHey, I don't make the rules! I just enforce them
Thanks for the link
Re: Trance Clap
I'm just saying it doesn't seem like a very good tutorial. I get the cut tail of reverb and all that, but what really doesn't make sense is where they say you need to cut it so it doesn't clutter the mid frequency range, and didn't even describe in what way they're using a Gate to do that. The way it's described it affects the reverb regardless of the range it's in. As for the Sampler tweak remark, when you have a clap sample with a long tail, please do find an easier way
Tutorials, when written properly, are good for picking tips and tricks, not to base your entire work on what's written SoundCloud ::: Facebook

what about Orion's gate? did it not work for you?
