Hi Dudes and Dudeettes
A little thing I have been messing with of how to get a snare drum/ hi hat/ tom to sound more realistic using Pro 9 or the drumrack
So here goes if you are wanting to have a two handed snare drum in your pattern you would want them to be behind each other, so this is what I did
You need to copy the same note into 2 separate generators, in one generator you will go into piano roll, hit cfg button and chose 128/4 default is 16/4 move the notes 1 or 2 spaces to the right. (This depends on BPM) Go to mixing board and pan the unaltered one either left or right, pan the other one same pan but move that pan further away from center than the original.
Lower volume of altered to lower value, add echo/retrigger effect to the altered generator, and change delay to 4/16.
If using Pro 9 use two different snare sounds, on this the unaltered is the 909 snare the altered is Vintage 1
I hope you can tell the difference on this, the first 10.8 secs are unaltered the last portion altered.
