Dune 2 Mod Matrix Amount question

Postby Caine » Mon Jan 12, 2015 3:29 am

i got some problem i couldnt figure out even reading the manual!

when i set the OSC 1 volume to the amount here on the pic with the yellow bar and then let it modulate from lfo1 with +54 amount does it mean that +54 is from 0 to the set amount of the volume in the OSC1 mixer or the whole range of OSC1 even over the limit i set of OSC1? like 54% from 0-100 or about 50-100?

current value of source (which has been ranged [0,+1] if unipolar or [-0.5,+0.5] is multiplied the mod matrix amount value

Forgive me for sounding stupid but when the mod matrix has a source of 'LFO1' then what actual value does it relate to ? Is it the rate of the lfo or the amount of the lfo? Or is it the value of the waveform ? I just tested, and it is the waveform transformed into a number. Sines go smoother than those saws.

LFO is bipolar [-0.5,+0.5]
Osc 1 level is 50%
so max waveform number (the waveform transformed into a number) is +0.5
So current value in mod matrix of 'LFO1' then is +0.5,
so that value is multiplied with the amount value in the mod matrix (+54)
So, +0.5 x 54 is 27

So when the sinewave of the LFO is at it's biggest (I suppose the level of that curve of the wave, the amplitude of the wave)
the volume of the Osc 1 level will be 27 or half of the knob value.

Is this correct?

Logically you can't have a value bigger than the OSC1 level max level (100%)

This 27 is then added to the 50% of the osc 1 value , I think. So the volume of osc 1 becomes 50+27 = 77.
