Convert .wav to midi?

Postby fea » Thu Sep 08, 2016 3:20 pm

Hello all. so topic is my question. Is it possible to convert harmony/melody (wav file) loop to midi (into pianoroll) like you can in ableton?

Heippa,
It is real hard to pull chords apart with a pitch reader.
Maybe your best bet in Orion would be JamOrigin MIDI Guitar.->
http://www.jamorigin.com/products/
It looks like the violin version covers 5 octaves polyphonically.
What sort of audio did you want to turn into MIDI?
Voice might not be that hard.

So ,you could record the MIDI that comes out of JO MIDI Guitar.
Sorry, O doesn't do this function within itself.
Does Melodyne plug-in peeps?
Cheers

hmm,
yeah this kind of operation requires reading pitch from the waveform.
It's hard to do in chords.
Orion doesn't have it inbuilt.
Melodyne is the industry standard->
http://www.celemony.com/en/melodyne/what-is-melodyne
but I'm pretty sure it's not a plugin
Like I say, your best bet within Orion is JO MIDI Guitar

I can try it for you within the next week,
if you up the loop

I have built a monophonic pitch counter,
and I have the JO midi guitar, FL & Edison,.

But what about doing it in the FL demo, like the vid?
You could try it,
and then use the MIDI in Orion by exporting it\

edit- here is a realtime polyphonic string of MIDI I made out of electric guitar
(the synth is the analog Cheetah MS6 )
The left channel is the guitar, and right is MIDI triggered synth->

So work it out yourself. I have zero musical training (and not much aptitude, either) but I've never had any problem working out how to program a cover just by listening to the song and trying to play along. With the effort you have gone to trying to find something to do it for you, you could probably have done it yourself. It's easier than you think.
