Need a tutorial of using Orion live set

There is no mention of Live Sets in the Orion manual nor do I see any such option in the menus. It's not something I would have ever used but I don't remember Live Sets being an option.

I wonder if he's mistaken Orion for some other bit of software or just assumes it has live sets.

Seems odd that since sales of Orion stopped so many years ago someone wouldn't have figured it out by now or....

This was it. It involved using specific keys for each pattern, but I don't remember which, as I, also, didn't use it.

yes, it was with the numeric key pad
It allowed you to get 9 mix of patterns you could switch to with a single key stroke

I'm giving it a go based on the instructions in the thread linked above but I can't see where it says Live Set 1 or Live Set 2 on the status bar.

That thread is from 2012 so is it possible the function was removed in later versions? It's probably more likely I'm just not doing it right.

yeah, ultimately I'd love to have all my tracks inside 1 Orion song file and be able to just trigger and build songs out of patterns live.
I could just go out an buy Ableton Live, but I think it may be a cool feature for Orion especially since clips in live and patterns in Orion are a pretty similar concept.

You can achieve exactly the same result using Live Sets and the F11 feature to write all current patterns to the Playlist.

Live sets are a simple way of setting up a bunch of patterns to play together. Simply set all your patterns and press any of the numeric key-pads 1-9 to move to the next set, then repeat the process. Once you have patterns stored in a live set, you can recall them by pressing the same number key again. AFAIK, live sets are stored with the song, so you can set things up for a gig in advance if you want to use them live.

It may have been removed...? (The feature, not the instructions) like I said, I don't think I ever tried it.

Choose some patterns for Live Set 1, which is active by default. Now press the "2" key on the numeric pad of your PC keyboard. You should now see Live Set 2 on the Status Bar (right-hand side)

I don't see where it says Live Set on the status bar. So what am I doing wrong? It's not something I'd ever need but it's out of curiosity now. Has anyone gotten it to work in 8.6?

I've tried with NumLock on and off and in both pattern and song mode.

works here in V8.6 64bit and 32bit, and V7.5

Ok then it's something I'm missing or doing wrong. Odd there is no mention in the manual.

EDIT: OK I got it. If I open a piano roll for a generator and enter a note then the step number and note show like "Step: 9 C#4" on the right hand side of the Status Bar. When I close the piano roll then "Live Set 1" shows in that location.

EDIT 2 Once again we see someone posting a question, coming back 27 minutes later then never coming back again.
