Record my voicePresuming you plugged your mic, made it work under normal circumstances...
1. Make sure your Input is enabled (Options > Audio Input Settings > Enable Input). You'll also see some other settings you can try 2. Insert Audio Track 3. Arm the Audio Track for recording... in the Playlist, press the Recording button on the Audio Track. 4. Switch to Song mode 5. Press Play to begin recording SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Record my voiceAnd if just using a mic - make sure MONO is checked in Audio Input. It reduces the MB size of your recording and is a bit easier on the CPU.
Record my voiceNever knew that, good question and answers.

Record my voiceMost inputs on laptops and PC's are mono anyways I believe. If I recall, OP will make a stereo recording if the MONO box is not checked.
Though both channels will be indentical. May work for some effect appllications after. But by and large most effects will make mono stereo anyways. So if just dealing with mic's and guitar inputs, MONO should be fine. If dealing with a synth or mixer plugged into a stereo soundcards inputs, then make sure you UNcheck Mono before recording.
Record my voiceSteven, that is one big contradiction of the post you just made :hihi:

Record my voiceIt's not contradicting, just giving Dee and Matthy options if they so need it. If I'm going to make a panning Buffer Override effect on a guitar track, I prefer to do it on a stereo WAV in Wavelab. If it's just a glitchy moment I can pan around with OP's channel knob - mono track, and a BO effect right onto OP's channel then. Or if I want to reverse Left and Right portions of a vocal or guitar track - again, a stereoised WAV is much easier to work with. But maybe DB Glitch is all that is needed to make the track interesting and focused. So then MONO it is, and pop Glitch onto the Insert.
It gets into heady stuff cutting and effecting stereo WAV channels. But sometimes it's the only way to do it to get that unique effect. Just want to make sure Dee and Matthy and all don't miss out on anything.
Record my voiceI've done this a good bit -- not my voice so much but sampling the voices of politicians, people on the MARTA train in Atlanta, etc. A decent Olympus or Philips voice recorder is invaluable for this sort of thing, and the new ones work directly through a usb cable. You don't need any kind of intermediary program, just drag and drop, and the quality is as good or superior to a straight computer mike.
Record my voiceneed a good sound card but the most important is the mic obviously
the room has also some influence test the best distance to your mic... Orion 8, Live 8Le, Cubase 4 LE, Cantana, APC40, UC16, Fostex PM1MKII, Q9550, 4G0, 1,5T, 22"+15"

Record my voiceAgreed Eklectro. As well, a good Audio Editor is definately essential as well. If just beginning, I'd suggest Audacity or Goldwave - both are free I believe? Google the names, and you'll see immediate links.
Both are easy to use, and are definately required to remove pops, clicks, burps, sniffs, coughs, farts, etc. The better the mic and room, the better of picking up those annoying sounds. "Reunited, cause it's understood... Reunited, like I knew we FAAAART!" Keep expecting that on Don't Forget the Lyrics. :superlol:
Record my voiceanyone knows a good VST (FREE) to change the pitch of a voice without changing the speed? and another to make VST FREEZE, like "you are and i aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam the king ing ing ing ing" it's just an example lol

Record my voiceToby Bears MadShifta for changing pitch is very good. DB Glitch for stutter effects, or my fave is Phutboy Slim. Neither of which is easy to use, but worth it when you get over the learning curve.
Google those names, and they'll get you started at least.
Record my voiceDrumRack can do that stretched out sound with Fit. It requires some fidling though.
