No, it doesn't work. There is not a place in Orion that accepts mono effects anymore: mixer, master section or fx holders.

There's a small warning on their site too:
Bitspeek is a monophonic effect and in certain hosts it will not work directly on stereo tracks. If you cannot select Bitspeek as an insert effect, or if it only affects the left audio channel, you are probably trying to use it on a stereo track in one of these hosts.

I guess there should be at least some place where it would be possible to bring in mono effects, since there's still many of them out there.

I fixed this today, standard stereo channels can now process mono effects as well.

The fix and beta isn't public. I guess it would be a part of Orion 8, which is probably due next month.

There is no fix for this. It is now a part of the beta version which is closed to the beta testing group.
Beta 7.9xx has officially entered Orion 8 beta stage, 6th revision as of yesterday, and the official Orion 8 release is expected in February. So, it's coming really soon :D

I've been working 2 years on it now, so definitely not free... besides the price will go up, perhaps even more so than the upgrade fee. Of course the subversions (8.1, 8.2, 8.5 etc) will be free as usual. :)
