In Orion 8 you can press F11 and it will go full screen giving you some more vertical screen space.

so you cant change it to 1366x1078 (or whatever the size is) ?

if you cant, you need a new monitor that can go to at least that resolution

It's a 15" monitor so I don't know how much choice there is in practical resolution. I measured a screenshot of Massive at 677 pixels and if that's correct he's only a few pixels short. Going full screen saves about 98 pixels here if you hide the Status bar.....about 78 if you keep the Status Bar. Might be just enough to display all of Massive......cheaper than buying a new monitor.

You mean only works in 8.5? Wasn't 8.5 a free update from version 8? From the website: "Product updates are always free within a version period (3.x, 4.x etc), sometimes longer." If you aren't already you should be running 8.5. You could try running Bones' Xtro skin. which is smaller...You can hide the Status bar to get a few more Pixels of space. Did you try Kriminal's suggestion of using a higher resolution? Looks like you could get a little more vertical resolution without making things too small....

It IS a free update within a version, so if he has v8 already, he should be able to download 8.5 from the service area.

Most likely not.

Fine by me, though I could think of a few things he could do or get help with in case he can't increase his screen resolution.

1. Update to Orion 8.5
...and use FS mode to get those few pixels for Massive. Since Massive can't be resized, there's nothing any of us can do to help him with, it's the only way for him without getting a new screen. Which can't be said for the Mixer, since that gets easier to help with. He can either use a smaller skin that would actually fit his screen, or edit the skin for Orion to make it fit. I would opt for skin editing - it's harder to do but overall more rewarding, especially if you're feeling sentimental ties with a certain skin. And if he can't do it, I'd be willing to help him out with that, but only if he updates to 8.5 (if he hasn't already), as I can't do anything for versions under that. At least updating to 8.5 is as easy as downloading new version from service area and installing it - though I think he'd lose that skin (starfighter, if I'm not mistaking?) unless it also gets an update.

2. Reduce Windows elements to preserve some space
Windows XP: Desktop (right click) -> Properties -> Appearance -> Advanced
Windows Vista/7: Desktop (right click) -> Personalize -> Window Color -> Advanced Appearance Settings

Things he could reduce:
- Menu
- Active and Inactive Title Bar
- Taskbar (I'm uncertain what's that item called in XP, but reducing the start-menu's height can add few pixels here and there).

changing the resolution is the simplest answer, and if he is losing that much of the GUI, non of those suggestions will help, he will simply have to buy a new monitor.

Obviously buying a bigger monitor would be the best solution but not everyone can afford such things and I didn't want to embarrass the OP by making him have to say it. The simplest solution would be to run 8.5 and go full screen and then he wouldn't have to change resolution if that's even possible. (even if he can change the resolution if will obviously have an effect on other software, browser etc)

I measured the missing part of Massive from the screenshot he provided and compared it against a screenshot of Massive and it looks like he's only 90 or so pixels short of being able to access all the controls....If he goes full screen and hides the Status Bar it looks like he'll be pretty close Luckily he's not trying to use PolyAna.....I don't know if the skin he's using is even supported anymore. Hypna can help him with it if he's dead set on keeping that skin....or there are smaller alternatives that will help with the problem as well.

But I agree let's see what he says about changing the resolution first....
