Orion 9 Wishlist 2014Moderators: Christophe, Mark Re: Orion 9 Wishlist 2014I see no problem with starting a new thread for that

Re: Orion 9 Wishlist 2014
Not that new, but still trying to find my feet
Re: Orion 9 Wishlist 2014I often get requests on my website from people listening to my music ans asking to purchase ORION.
As Orion will not be available anymore in the future, why not make it available as a freeware, abandonware or open source with no official support ?.
Re: Orion 9 Wishlist 2014Its not possible according to Rich. There was a few posts here yesterday, but they seem to have been deleted.

Re: Orion 9 Wishlist 2014I was actually encouraged by Richards comments of late. It seems very likely that he hasn't entirely dropped the possibility of creating Orion in a "better than ever" program. I would dearly love to see that!
Re: Orion 9 Wishlist 2014Solid!
I also had a spine tingling acid techno rush when I read that. woo ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq
Re: Orion 9 Wishlist 2014Well shoot... as many years as I have been complaining of poor system performance, poor compatibility with various VST/VSTi/DX plug-ins, and the myriad of other issues that I have had with Orion... perhaps now would be a good time to stop waiting for the next update to magically solve the issues and actually try something I probably should have done long ago... abandon ship and try something that is proven more stable and usable. I feel liberated.
The other side of that coin is a sense of loss. I have used Orion for as long as I can remember. It was my first DAW and the only one I ever used with any sort of consistency. I'm excited to see what brave new world awaits... but terrified of the headaches to come, trying to learn new platforms... Windows 10 Professional / Intel Core i7-4790K (4.0 GHz) / 16 GB RAM / 2TB Primary HD / 650GB Secondary HD / 3TB External Storage / E-MU 1616m PCIe/ a load of various VST instruments and effects / a bunch of DX effects / Orion 8.504
Re: Orion 9 Wishlist 2014Quite a few of us did the transition without any major headaches and are more productive than ever. I wouldn't worry about it, start demoing other daws!
