rewire slave
rewire slaving functionality return in both 64bit and 32bit, there has to be some short of redesign though, there is need for the main mixer not only the master one! every channel as like it is in a "solo" state in the main mixer. set in preferences the number of eg. 1-128 first channels to be rewired + the master mixer.

midi routing
improve midi routing in main mixer between channels with visual access to information in mixer and signal indicators,
you can improve "midi channels" for this also to send well defined midi in every generator and vst. A midi channel can route information in every other channel loaded (one to many relationship).

using 7.6

Code is Code. Each programmer may have his own style but Marcin came on board and jumped right in so........

It's not certain they wouldn't be for the better. Only one way to find out...........

swatwork wrote:I can definitely understand the desire to concentrate on more profitable work and if Richard is unable to work on Orion maybe it is time to just let it go.

I'd rather not see it "just let go" if there is any possibility of developing it further even if that means enlisting the help of another developer.

Code is never just code, there is always a history of design decisions, architectural blunders, obsolete idioms and so on buried in any significant code base, particularly a 'legacy' one like this. The kind of changes people are hoping for aren't just 'fix a typo here, change a colour there'. They're significant functional changes which demand deep architectural knowledge and this isn't usually acquired quickly or without significant help from the original author.

Still, like you said, there's no harm in trying if Richard is up for it.

Just a suggestion... ¿Could you consider release Orion (or part of it) as an Open Source Project?

This is tricky due to licensing restrictions (VST, ASIO, among other things) which cannot be open sourced.

This may explain why rme do not realize diver for Linux? Or has nothing to do? Thank You

Teksonik wrote: I don't know how it would work technically speaking but something like calling up an Instrument in Reaper would have the same Pattern Selector that Orion's toolbar has and then those patterns could be added directly into Reaper's Timeline. You can sort of get this now with "Midi Items" but you have to name each one and keeping track of them is a mess. Just having Orion's A-H 1-8 Pattern selector each one calling up it's own Piano Roll would be very cool. Selecting the length of each Pattern as we can now in Orion and so forth.

While not exactly the same have you used megababy in reaper?

Another wish-- to be able to automate on or off on the busses. For now I'm automating the buss volume level but would be nice not to have to :D

I remember Rich saying something about having multiple song playlists-- similar now to what Studio One 3 has done. This would have been so amazing in Orion and was thought of years ago by Richard. In so3 there is even a playlist (scratch pad) type patterns that can be switched (similar to orions patterns per generator). What I'd love to see instead would have been different settings could be preserved per playlist and could have different automations-- one automations in one playlist wouldn't effect the parameters in another playlist.

Continued wishes are ideas for the next orion on the off chance, but it's mostly for whatever may come next from richard as far as sequencers go if we ever do get to see a new one some day.

I do not know if they have already proposed this idea, but if you could use in the next update of Orion, there would be the opportunity to separately install the 32-bit version of the "simulated" 64-bit, without the need to install them both. Thank you

Judging by the lack of response from the developers regarding Orion it's obvious that 8.612 is the last version........but you never know for sure.
