I think not blowin' your dough on a BCF2000 makes sense. Th e4situation you have put yourself in was the first thing I thought of when those kinds of things first started to appear. Of course, Templates could be your saviour, allowing you to have the same links for every song. It's actually a much better use of that feature than anything else I can think of.And noone talked about accedentially linked something to whatever.
I mentioned it because it's about the only use I could see for it. Your suggestion would only work for you. i thin a lot more people might be interested in being a little more targeted when it comes to making changes like that. e.g. If you had just spent half-an-hour setting up links to work live and you run out of control knobs before you manage to link everything you want to control, you wouldn't want to have to erase it all and start again. It would be much easier to simply decide which parameter you could best live without and just make one change.
You just don't get the point. It's not about performing live or whatever, it's about automatisation of a generator while in production process. I do not need to sit down for 1/2 an hour to think about which knob do I use to automate Wasp's cutoff. I just want to temporarly link MIDI to my project and then afterwards get rid of it as it will not be needed anymore. But next time I do not want to remember which knob or fader was linked to what before I start to automate something else of the project. It's soooooooo simple. But anyway. Too lazy to go ahead. It's worthless...
