242 were the Biz. Their new album, pulse or whatever was truly aweful though

playlist tab->show in mixerIf we used that logic, all our songs would only have drums and a bassline. It is ridiculously simplistic but does give me an insight into how much effort you guys put into the process.
Which is exactly what I've been saying for years about FL, they need to start over from scratch. Orion doesn't because it is fundamentally better equipped for it's purpose. i.e. It didn't start life as a drum machine. All the major 3D animation applications have had ground-up rebuilds, but they are several orders of magnitude more complex than audio applications, and inefficient to a similar degree with it.
If that was an issue, and even I don't see that it would be, then it's a simple matter of choosing colours that go with the decor. It's not like the colour assignments can't be customised.
Only if you choose to work that way. There would be nothing to stop you from putting everything into a single mixer if you wanted to keep things simple, as long as all the current flexibility was maintained. Sort of like multi or mapped mode in DrumRack. The good thing about it is that it's an established method of extending a studio, so the process is a familiar one to many. I was at Albert Studios [AC/DC] one day and was chuffed to see them using the same mixer I had as a sub-mixer for drums, feeding into one of the main desk's channels. It could easily be implemented like an effects container, so that it fed back into the main mixer instead of into a bus, a little bit like using eXT as a VSTi to contain multiple parts. It could be either a fixed no. of channels - 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x 32x, kind of like Sampler - or it could be more flexible, allowing you to add as many instruments as you need to via right-click or something. It would really be just a more formalised way of compartmentalising your projects, much as you are forced to do anyway, once you can't see the whole mixer any more.
Then why are you asking for workarounds to be added into orion to address it's shortcomings?
Not even close. My expectations come from 20 years of hardware. In a studio, on stage or at home, it has always been completely unacceptable not to have everything right in front of me where I can see all of it at once. Back when I was still an Army Officer, I started building my own racks and stands to facilitate that, a decade before I started working as an artist.
Because it encourages people to put up with krap. It's like responding to someone who complains about how awful it is having to sleep in a sewer by giving them a pillow. Yes, they will be more comfortable, but they will still be sleeping in a sewer.
I image that putting the "fat" feature from Wasp V into Screamer would also be easy and I would much rather Rich spent his time doing that, or that he saved up all those little fixes to do something more meaningful that addresses a range of issues in a more holistic way.
Which would be fine if we were trying to be as lightweight as FLA, but we're not. Showing your ignorance does nothing for your credibility.
The proper album that went with that abomination, Fuck Up Evil [that one is actually called "Evil Off" if you use the numbers to equate to letters of the alphabet, as intended] is the only one they didn't produce themselves and it's the only one that sounds better than the live versions of those songs. I never had much time for them until I heard a live bootleg. I now have several live CDs and they are pretty much the only F242 I listen to, except for Fuck Up Evil. Evil Off has it's moments but I don't think it works at all as a standalone. The Angel vs Animals EP that came from it works much better for me. playlist tab->show in mixerEvil off was the first Electronica CD I ever owned I think I was like 11 or 12 when I got it. I perfer that one mainly because there drum work is so original in that album my favorite song is "speed angles" fuckn tight. I thought you were a F242 fan from hearing some of your work. I went from them to disvocering Orbital's box album which you may not care for but is another one of my all time favorites.

Oh I`m well aware of industrial music, ebm and so on. It`s my roots. I used to DJ and play live regularly at Slimelight and Pure Industrial in London in the mid 90`s, but I moved on when the music and scene stagnated. Front Line Assembly - HeavyWeight, Original (for this type of post industrial electronics) well produced, complex, and, still very popular. http://www.myspace.com/thefrontlineassembly Without them, you wouldn`t have a sound to imitate. It really is that simple. You stumble in their footsteps. And it is why they enjoy success and you inflict your bitterness at your lack of it, on people on a forum where you try to feel a little superior, when in fact the purpose of the forum is to help and support Orion users, rather than bitch and moan and castigate them in a vein attempt to cover up your frustration at an industry that doesn`t understand your genius and originality.

Now that shows how useful it is to be able to express yourself well in english. Thank you for saying that for me (and probably others). A peu près

Yeah the scene was already a pale imitation of itself by then. Slimelight has become a fashion house for emo kids now, Mac and the rest of the Slimelight crew just earn their dollar now and laugh at the kiddies. Pure industrial was always a better night, but it was about the music and not about the fashion and when the music tranformed into something else, the club died. Shame really.
playlist tab->show in mixertrue, even the industrial night we used to have here finished two years ago, and we are 10 years behind everywhere else
it was just an excuse for kids to wear make up and rubber vests.... Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

playlist tab->show in mixerThere is somewhat of a resurgence of Industrial music at the mo, but proper industrial, not the poppy cheesy derivatives that came later.
I think TG reforming has had a big part to play in this, but you are seeing more gigs by TG, Boyd Rice, Soisong (Sleezy from Coil), Lustmord etc. Can only be a good thing IMO as long as they keep innovating and pushing the music forward rather than going over the same sounds and ground. Soisong seems promising so far, and new TG is also very good, especially live.
playlist tab->show in mixerI was going to say Genesis P. is 'the man' - but that wouldn't be entirely accurate these days.
I'm more than happier than a pig in poop in that the original line up for Public Image Ltd. is getting back together. Krim - did you really catch Bones in England?
