Rich my good man ,
How about adding a "Select All" option in the piano roll ? , for short loops it is fine to use the selecting tool but for long sequences it is a pain to manually select the notes it's so slow , having a "Select All" function would be quick so i could just then copy the notes into another vst instrument , whaddyou think ?

Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?Why do you need that when select all is default?
Just hold down ctrl-C to copy that pattern and ctrl-v to paste it into the other vst
Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?You're right D-Fusion but what i tend to do in my compositions is to play a lead line , then select all the notes and copy them up or down an octave to thicken the sound , it would be nice to have a select all function that highlights all the notes then i could hold the ctrl on the keyboard and copy the same notes up or down an octave , it was probably misleading when i mentioned about copying the notes to another vsti (which i do sometimes).
Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?just a use the arrows keys !
you don' t need to select anything ! Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?The arrow keys only move the notes up or down , i need to copy my sequence in the piano roll so that i have what i originally played plus a copy of it one octave up or down showing in the piano roll.

Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?Many small things such as these make for faster workflow (which is one of the strengths of Orion to begin with).
I hope it will be implemented in O8.
Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?Working with multitimbrals like Edirol Orchestra, it's a pain to have to lasso the notes in say Ch.2 to paste them into Ch.4 Especially with big long patterns. CTRL+C is only good for copying A1 data to A2, be it Ch.1 or Ch.2 etc.
So yeah, a 'Select All' option would be nice when it comes to multitrimbral, or between synths on different channels for sure.
Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?use the square select tool and then ctrl c ctrl v, then use the arrows to move the newly created notes an octave up or down. I do it all the time

I'd reckon about one million times harder than swapping CTRL+A for CTRL+X, so stop whining and get on with your life. Only a complete moron would worry about the difference. What matters is how easy or hard it is to do something and, overall, having everything selected by default is much better than having to select everything when you need to and implementing CTRL+A would not make deleting notes any easier at all, so why bother? The bottom line is that there is no situation where you ever need to select everything, so why worry about it? Krap like this makes me wonder why Rich bothers at all. He comes up with a brilliantly easy way of working and people are too stupid and/or narrow-minded to see it for the better way of working that it clearly is.
OK, so this might be the one and only situation where you might want to select all but I don't see it as any kind of inconvenience. It's trivial to hold down CTRL and lasso select everything, then drag it all up/down without releasing CTRL. I do it all the time and it has never occurred to me that CTRL+A would save me any time at all. Now that you have pointed it out, I don't see that it would save me even one second on the operation, so I still don't see the point.
No, having everything selected by default is what makes Orion's workflow faster and it also makes "select all" a complete and utter waste of development time.
Except that it wouldn't change that behaviour. "Select all" would select the whole pattern, not just the channel you can see, so it wouldn't help you at all. If you only want to select some notes in a pattern, you are always going to have to use the lasso tool, which is hardly any kind of chore. In any event, I have no sympathy for anyone who uses multi-timbral VSTi, they just don;t make any sense in a digital environment. Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?I know everyone has they're favorite multitimbral synth, and I'm with you Bones - I think they're a waste too in OP. But I gotta say this Edirol Orchestra makes sense as a multi-timbral, be it in OP, Protools, wherever. It's sounds and organization is really well done for big true orchestra stuff.
So when you got a 992 measure pattern of violas with 4 or 5 octaves of cadences and flourishes you want to grab and copy to CH.5 or Ch.1 of CelloFan. Lasso's a wee bit of a chore in that regard. Just would be nice to double click a note or right click to have 'Select All' like in Wordpad or multiple instances of MS Paint - then Copy. Then Paste to wherever you dang well please.
Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?How do you move all notes over less than a grid square without having to lasso all of them?
Hows about a "Select All" option in the piano roll ?You change the grid subdivision, which you would want to do anyway to make it easier to line things up. You're clutching at straws.
