Good evening everyone, I'm trying the demo version from a few minutes in stand-alone HV-Formant, and among the menu bar at the top note with great pleasure the zoom function that allows you to enlarge the virtual instrument.
So I ask if such a thing is possible in Orion, that is a VSTi for example, enlarge the CS-80V, which has set very small and puts a strain on their vision.
Thanks.

Zoom in OrionI know what you mean ECd, but I think that falls onto the VST developers than OP? I like the synths that have say small knobs, but descriptions hovering over them. And/or a larger area on the skin that shows the # amount being changed by the small knob movement.
Some of the VST dev's like Arturia get so into recreating the sound and look of a CS or Arp, I think they loose the fact it's not a BIG hardware synth anymore. So balloons and/or offside readouts would really help.
Zoom in OrionMost VST GUIs are bitmaps, so it's not easy to change their size. It would eat into your CPU resources and require a lot of jiggery-pokery to work efficiently, I imagine. The only instruments I know of with resizable UIs are Synth1, which does not use bitmaps and consequently looks horrible and Olga, which uses multiple sets of bitmaps with different layouts.
My suggestion is to either change your monitor resolution or buy a bigger monitor. Dell G7 (Hexa-Core i7)|Cubase Pro 10||Analog Keys|Ultranova|MicroMonsta|Uno|Skulpt|Craft Synth 2.0|

Zoom in OrionWhile attending an IK Multimedia mastering class I saw the rep do this with a Mac. Zoomed right in on the T-Racks plugins. Thought it was cool but not enough to buy a Mac.

Zoom in OrionI'm pretty sure you can do that with Windoze too, it's just hidden away with all the stuff for users with disability. If it's not there in the OS, it is certainly a utility you can get hold of. It might even be part of your graphics driver. Sounds like it would be good for presentations like that but not so much for actual work.

Zoom in OrionActually it would come in handy when working with smaller GUIs like the microscopic Sytrus interface. I'll have to poke around the Windows options to see if zoom is there.
Zoom in OrionOk I just had a quick go and you're right, there is a Magnifier function in Win XP but it's very clunky. Not sure if it would be very useful but it might be worth spending more time with if someone wants zoom. Perhaps it just need to be setup better. Microsoft also provides a link to more Magnifiers for Windows:

Zoom in OrionCool, thanks Tek. Not that I'm becoming Mr. Magoo here, but know what you mean about some of these small graphics. Don't mind if it's clunky, as long as it helps.
Zoom in OrionYou guys just need to sort your environment out. A dark room makes it much easier to read your monitor. I am very close to needing glasses to read and to drive, but I have no trouble at all reading Sytrus's GUI on my 15.4" screen at 1920x1200.

Zoom in OrionMy Studio is completely dark save for the glow of my 22" monitor at 1680 x 1050. I can see the Sytrus gui but try programming patches with it for a few hours. I think that's why there are so few 3rd party presets for Sytrus. It gives people retina damage after a while.
My eyes are getting worse. I have Tri-Focals and no matter how hard I try I still can't see shit. Anyway when I saw the guy do it with a Mac he just hit some keys on the keyboard, up down whatever and the whole screen zoomed in and out. I've still got his e-mail maybe I'll ask him what's the secret.
Zoom in OrionI'm sure there are programs that will help you with this if you take the trouble to look for them.

this program could do for me except that the zoom is mobile and you can not work with the mouse pointer Last edited by ECdj79 on Sat Oct 24, 2009 12:01 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Zoom in OrionBelieve me Bones, if not for better viewing - I'm trying to save on this overpriced provincial Hydro charges. So yeah, it's pretty dark here in the Dungeon these days.
Probably why my eyes are going as well.
Zoom in OrionI think we know the real reason for your eyes going Steven.
