Free registrationI have a proposal for the registration phase. I noticed, (but maybe I am wrong some settings) that when you register with Orion should always set the length (length) before you register otherwise the cells overlap 16-32-64 etc ... I propose a "button" or command that allows a free registration. Let me give an example: I want to record a song with a sound plan. obviously playing the piano with MIDI I start recording my click in Song mode, but the scrolling is applied concurrently free, a bit like Cubase and other sequencers that once put into play the rec does not stop until we do not stop us nlo . I hope I explained myself well, in case if I try to do the drawings, unfortunately I do not know English, sorry.

Free registrationI don't understand what you're saying, really.. but I would guess either:
(a) you need to set the length of the pattern (or "cell"?) to be longer. I think the limit is 999 now or something similar, and then adjust accordingly after recording. (b) You need to take Orion out of pattern mode and into song mode? (c) You need to take Orion out of song mode and put into pattern mode?
Free registrationI mean when you record something vul immediate or direct with your keyboard in Song mode, not just set the legth or patterns. when you press REC and then play the recording part and continues without "overlap" pattern to press the stop. I understand that the function is precisely to start a recording without having to set the length of the pattern. A kind of free rec.

Ok i understand you, you want to record your work sequencer like Cubase ,Sonar ext..But this is Orion work style you cant do like that.YOu must set the bar before to your recordings like 16,32,33,40,64,128.... i wish it helps you. I come from 5 years user from Cubase and really i like to work on Orion it gives me what i need to electronic music. Last edited by 303box on Thu Nov 12, 2009 11:18 am, edited 1 time in total.

I believe he is asking for this feature to be added to Orion so he can do that. This request has been made time and again and it doesn't look like a change is in sight.
Free registrationI hear you ECdj79. A long bane with me and OP as well, as I'm used to just linear recording on tape and sequencers as well. Play for however long I feel, stop and see 'Oh that was 7 minutes of jamming?' or 'Geez, 167 measures?'
So the only way arounf it is to say get a piano loaded, type 999999 into the length of A1 and record your playing directly in Song Mode. It's not bad. But then if you say 'That take wasn't bad, let's do another on A2' Song has a way of jumping back to A1 on you. Unless you remove A1, insert A2 at 99999, Save - then record. So in that case I wish there was a OPT to 'Link' or 'Unlink' a VST's patterns from following Song Mode. Allowing one to do as many virtual takes on A1, A2, A3 etc easily. Then when it's nailed down on say A4, 'Link' back on, Save and carry on with other things. Something like that?
Free registrationPut an audio recorder on the channel and play your generator.
You can do this in pattern mode and have a drumloop play for accomaniment without recording it. http://www.voxengo.com/product/recorder/ easy peezy japaneezy or such like. ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq
Free registrationThat works in OP? I've tried a few 'recorders' in past, and never had much luck with them?
