Hi,
I have been working with the Orion sampler. And I have a small wish which might make the work easier. This was prompted by Dungeon Studio (I think), which pointed out that you could bounce audio tracks between an audio editor of your choice and Orion.
Why not the same excellent thing in the sampler I thought. Maybe the best place to put it would be under groove view.
What do you guys think?

A wish for a small Sampler improvementYou mean to double click a slice and it will open with an audio editor?
Something like that for further editing? Emu1212m | Alesis micron | Edirol pcr500 | FOCAL CMS 50 | Senheiser hd 25-1 II | Core i7 etc
A wish for a small Sampler improvementThat would require a fundamental re-write, as Orion doesn't actually change the sample in the Grooveslicer. i.e. It's non-destructive, which I think is a good thing.

A wish for a small Sampler improvementVicious_Angel:
More like the entire sample. But to be able to click the individual slices would be innovative for sure! But I imagine it would be more work, hence my wish to restrict the idea to entire samples. Another way would be to be allow to bounce audio (to audacity ad infinitum) via the program editor. Which might be easier and not involve the groove slicer in the same way. Bones: I hear you on the non-destructive aspect of Grooveslicer. That has its merits for sure. Personally I would find an easier way to go between an audio editor and Orion very positive though, which is why I raised this topic.
A wish for a small Sampler improvementYeah, I think you caught my tip there Suecae. And Bones is right too, in that non-destructive is a good way to keep things in OP. But keep in mind too - you can 're-sample' easily with OP and your editor as well. So if you wanted to isolate and beef up a snare let's say - do the groove slicing as you would do in OP's sampler. Make a pattern with it at 162 or whatever and see if it sounds alright. THEN - slow the BPM down by half or another half (81 or 40.5) Plop the Pattern into Song and Stream Measure 1 to 8 that way. Of course you could isolate as well with separate outs and SOLO and all that as well. So you should wind up with a sample of the snare which you can boost, slope the end, put a reverbt ail on it and all that and Save As 'Modified Snare' or whatever. Then replace it in Keymap or DR wherever.
Not as easy as 'right click' Open With xxx, I know. But, a lot better than having to deal with tape!
