v8 improved limiter pleaseNo, limiting is typically used in mastering, at least in the software world. There's no technical reason in software to limit individual channels, as they can have infinite headroom.

v8 improved limiter pleaseThat's what I'm saying Rich. Even though these 'dual units' get used on a channel - most times it's for comp. And rare cases with a subdued bass or vocal, limiting is good to have on board as well.
But yes, Limiting for sure on mastering. And I think that's what sets studio's and labels apart. As certain studio's wil use a certain type, which tends to work well with a certain labels electronic roster. Another studio finds one that kicks ass for rock act's and rock labels tend to use that studio, and so on. Nice find VA.
v8 improved limiter pleaseoh wow thanks, but i dont meant to add additional burden to your task list, if the new compressor you say does what it supposed to. i guess i could send you some samples to see if you think the compressor is upto it ( as i am not on the beta list )
v8 improved limiter pleaseI added a good brickwall limiter to the beta. It sounds very much like the classic L1. Definitely a great extra bonus to have, works well in combination with the compressor too.
Feel free to send me samples, but remember to include unprocessed as well as processed material, and the exact settings used to get there. Admin - Synapse Audio Software

Nice to hear. You are really stepping it up. Orion 8 sounds like it will be amazing.
v8 improved limiter pleaseAs a plug in Rich, or on the master strip?

v8 improved limiter pleaseCool! So I can give it a whirl in WaveLab as well. Thanks Hypna.
Nice one Rich!
v8 improved limiter pleasei think he meant its native, not a vst
v8 improved limiter pleasebtw, L1 costs 300 $. If Orion can give that a match. :box: Well, that should probably be one more incentive to enter Oriania.
4Front Technologies have claimed to make an identical 'clone' called W1; which they have released for free, but I don't know about that.
v8 improved limiter please
Oh right. I thought for a second it was a DX style like done with the Vocoder... Which isn't a bad idea either Rich. If you think you can take on the L1 - let OP users really put it to the test with a nomadic DX plug as well that can be used in WL, SF, and whatever all one may have.
v8 improved limiter pleaseAren't DX plugs a bit of a dying breed?
v8 improved limiter pleaseNot sure why Rich did the Vocoder as DX, but it's been handy for me in WaveLab and other app's. Or make it a nice VST - but then Rich could be subject to 'warez' with everyone and their cousin sharing the .DLL on the net then? Other good thing of DX is they're not easily 'swappable'. Which maybe why Rich did the vocoder like that as well.
