Orion iPhone App ???Everyone in the world is on an iPhone or ipod touch and soon the iPAD.
How about a way to incorporate a version of Orion for the App store ? At least a away to control the software similar to what Pro Tools is already doing for $150 & Cubase just released a version called Cubase RC. Bias also has jumped into the app store as well. Just a thought. Couldn't hurt to ask. Last edited by soulvida on Sun Jan 31, 2010 2:50 am, edited 1 time in total.
Orion iPhone App ???If you solve the problem of funding, GREAT idea. But think about it...
Orion iPhone App ???
no they are not, only stupid people are. sensible ppl use a proper machine to make music, not a toy.
Orion iPhone App ???If you do a search with Google you'll find a lot of musical apps for Windows mobile phones , Iphone and Java phones .
Orion iPhone App ???
Damn...i guess this album sucks because of the tool used to make it runs on a palm pilot. http://www.archive.org/details/nvr036 In fact, thats transient's tool of choice. I remember when studio producers scoffed at dorks making music on a computer...now no self respecting studio is without one. You better adapt...
Orion iPhone App ???It might be a progress, but it's not the one that's going to happen for Orion in long time.
Rich cut out the Windows version because it was hard for him to keep updating two versions. How is having to port Orion for iPhone be any different. I think he'd rather have a Mac version of Orion before he ports it for any of the tinies. So, really... don't hold your breath. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Orion iPhone App ???Certainly the portables get better and will be able to do high-end audio processing soon. What remains, however, is the usability/workflow issues. An iphone is not a replacement for a studio with proper acoustics and speakers, MIDI controllers, keyboard etc.

Orion iPhone App ???
Don't forget the 24" LCD screen
Orion iPhone App ???I don't see why people don't think it would be a good idea. A scaled-down version of Orion that only includes internal generators, but that can export proper .sfs files would make a handy scetchpad to use when you want to get an idea going while you're on the bus or something. How much work would it take? Rich would need to make a stripped down version with no vst support. I'm not a programmer though, so there probably is more to it than I think.....
Might create interest in people who aren't familiar with Orion, and want that kind of 'scetchpad' thing on their mobile units.
Orion iPhone App ???No one said it would be a bad idea, but look...
It was hard to keep a stripped-down Windows version up to date, how much easier would it be to have a stripped-down iWhatever PORTED version of it? Last edited by HYPNAGOGIA on Sun May 02, 2010 4:24 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Orion iPhone App ???Im not making an argument for or against the portable version...im just saying its popular with many people and will only gain popularity.
Orion iPhone App ???Without giving too much away, there will be some neat iPhone App's to make music with hopefully soon (not by OP). And 'linkable' to other iPhones using the same app. So 10 people to 100 or more can jam in realtime with them. I just don't want to be on the subway when they do.
Makes Wii and Guitar Hero look like a thing of the past.
Orion iPhone App ???How crazy is this & the idea of running a small form version of Orion in this matter :

Orion iPhone App ???Crazy indeed.
Being that iPhone and now iPad are meant to comfor the portability, carrying a 2 octave controller doesn't fit into that idea IMO. Sure, it's portable when you can take it to a gig, not so portable to have your iPhone hooked to it to play on a bus. And you can scrape Orion from that idea too, as it's not happening any time soon. Orion iPhone App ???Becoming quite the trend in electronic music it seems. First the RCA Mark II. And from a room sized synth - comes the Mini Moog. Then big poly Oberheim's and Yamaha's - comes the wee little Casio's. Then big all-in-one workstations - comes nifty little laptops and VST's.
Big 20' 'portable desktops' - comes iPhone's. I know one person that did 2 concerts using my music on nothing but a iPhone hooked into the mixer. (And no, not Ashlee Simpson! ) I was impressed and pissed, because I made all these CD's beforehand for the show and e-mailed the 390kbs MP3's beforehand for approval. As far as the audience was concerned, they couldn't care less. And thankfully the iPhone didn't 'skip' or glitch at all either time. I know I do 'glitchy music' - but this stuff was far from glitch. As much as I detest these micro-marvels and their soul sucking stranglehold they have on the latest generations... They're actually pretty cool in how they work.
