can we have the correct numeric readouts for the pattern editor please?
eg
suppose i want to pattern automate the fine knob say in wasp. i know my default value is say -7. but when i goto pattern automation editor, i see values from [0,128]. Instead they should be [-64,+64], so that i know where to start making the changes from. likewise same problem for osc too.

v8 meaningful values pattern editorFor internal generators this is possible, but not for plugins.

v8 meaningful values pattern editorAlso Suneel, or you changing these controls manually with a controller/mouse during record. Or drawing them in from scratch manually?
I rarely pay attention to the numbers in editor in this regard. Be it a OP synth or VST. I'll set the Fine to where I like it manually first. Then record changes with mouse or controller as best I can. The main thing is to get that initial position in with EVT. Then it's like working out Standard and military time's. Want cents 12 up - 64+12=76. Then cents -14, 64-14=50. Snap lines to approx heigths and depths. Use Scale after to nudge values up or down again. 104 to nudge up, 96 to nudge down slightly. Why would you automate Fine tuning in Wasp anyways Suneel. Couldn't the LFO do that for you automatically? Last edited by Dungeon Studio on Mon Feb 22, 2010 7:58 pm, edited 1 time in total.
v8 meaningful values pattern editorok that sounds good! i know for plugins its not possible because the vst api doesn't force you to push those params to a host.
v8 meaningful values pattern editori am doing it manually with the mouse. in pattern mode you need to careful. eg if you automate a pattern in an already built up pattern and supposing the value of the fine started at -7 and was automated by whatever means to -14 for a pattern say A1. Now in your plalist supposing your next pattern was A2 after A1, then for A2 pattern the fine value will auto start at -14 and not -7. =>that is for a generator, if one of the patterns was automated, the next pattern will take the prev value like global automation (which i think should not be so). So you need to manually open A2 and set fine to -7. But when you do that you get readouts from 0-128 (midi), so its a bit irritating to compare the A1/A2 fine and set it graphically. ofcourse, but in this case i have a 128 bar pattern and i want to shift the fine for new notes in between, so it is a manual operation. v8 meaningful values pattern editorOkay then. Just heard this band messing with tuning too in a very sporadic and slow way. Cool effect to a point. And yes, not the easiest to do in OP.
What about Merge? Combine the A1's and A2's and 3's to B1 and do it all that way when the song takes better shape?
