I am using the latest demo and I am quite impressed with its structure.
It's like a wet rag well twisted to squeeze out all the unnecessary stuff out of it.
I dumped Reason sometime ago due to several issues, the sequencer being on top of the list. I am using well energyXT and MuLab and the reason is that I input most of the events by hand rather then the keyboard used mainly for some virtuoso.
Both of them have an exceptional scrolling feature that allows me to use the sequence's parts like a piece of paper. Very quickly indeed while zoom in and out at the same time.
With Orion I can't have this writing flow. Beside this important (for me of course) feature the rest is superb. Sound quality top notch and the synths alone are worth the price.
I can't believe that the developer is working on a new synth. Whatever is in Orion seems to be quite enough so it must have in mind something really good.
So I will get to work with Orion and report here in order to get some help from anyone willing to share.
Yes, the scrolling feature is the only thing I'm missing for my style of writing but the program really shines.

Firt time here.Quality over nonsense! ditto: ORION over the rest!
Firt time here.Welcome! I'm sure any questions you ask will be answered quickly and thoroughly. Enjoy! And yes, the developer is working on a new synth and yes it is really good.
Firt time here.Welcome to the Orion forums, Musicale.
I'm not sure what you mean by "scrolling". There has been some changes to the zooming/scrolling (well, general navigation) in the latest beta, and I'm sure there will be more to come in that regard, making things easier to work with. SoundCloud ::: Facebook
Firt time here. It's Sunday evening and I am getting 2 reply!
It's great to know that "quickly and thoroughly" still exist in the DAW world! Thank you for welcome me. Those changes in zooming/scrolling could be the tipping point. The program is really Pattern based but it's not so hard to use it the other way around. Eventually everything, in a fractal way, gets to be a pattern soon or later.. Thanks again. Quality over nonsense! ditto: ORION over the rest!
Firt time here.Welcome mate.
Firt time here.Hi musicale, welcome aboard!
I also input most of the events by hand with mouse, that's my way to compose with Orion and I like it that way. Pattern based workflow suits me perfectly. Orion has the most clear and easy to use piano roll there is, I've tried many other DAWs and softwares but I've always returned to Orion. About the flexibility of the piano roll: did you know that with the mouse wheel you can scroll vertically and with ctrl-mouse wheel youn can scroll horizontally in the piano roll? Almost the same with the play list. Orion rules! Orion demo songs.
