Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Moderators: Christophe, Mark Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Can you move the discussion to the discussions thread, please?
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Please see the attached Screenshot Mockup for my proposal to TRACK BASED automation lanes. Obviously, from the screenshot, I feel they should be attached per instrument in the Song Playlist. Each lane should also be collapsible to keep things tidy.
Generator Patterns Generator Automation Lane Generator Patterns Generator Automation Lane etc I'd prefer if the curve manipulation was a bit more robust than what you see (Draw the curve and have the points added automagically as example)... but this is the general idea. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Regarding automation I'd really like to have a central overview of parameters that have been automated so far in my project.
At the moment this is quite diffucult, you have to open lots of Event Editors and have to search for marked parameters. I am not convinced that this should be part of the playlist. http://soundcloud.com/chris-qhq/moonshine

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)You can remove my post as often as you like, it doesn't change the fact that having one thread for ideas and another to discuss them simply doesn't work, in that you need to read the discussion thread to see if anyone other than the author thinks an idea is worthwhile or not. That makes this thread a complete waste of space. It is the equivalent of having one forum where you post only topics and another where you make the actual posts about the topics from the other forum. It is completely stupid.

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Hide FX Section
we can hide the EQ section, so its time to add hide fx too, this is especially useful for mixing, where i can have the desk at the bottom and the playlist at the top and adjust volumes while the song is playing cheers Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)FLAC support for DrumRack & Sampler.
http://flac.sourceforge.net/ FLAC (Full Lossless Audio Codec) is, as it states, a lossless audio codec. Encoded files are typically 1/3 to 1/4 the size of their .wav/.aiff counterparts in my experience. Would lead to significantly smaller .sfs files (when bundling samples). FLAC has been widely adopted already, with several off-the-shelf players supporting it. Even Sony Vegas 11+ has native support for its use in audio tracks! tl;dr - FLAC support would majorly improve portability/archiving of .sfs files by reducing filesize without losing quality. Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)
I didn't delete it. I moved it to the correct thread, although I had to do that as a quote by me, because there is no mechanism for moving single posts between threads easily. I'm not going to go through my reasoning again, I've said enough about this subject in the other thread. If you can't accept that the way it is now will stay that way then tough. I'll leave this here long enough for you to read and then move it to the correct thread, i.e., the one that is labelled Discussion. In the mean time I suggest you get over it. Worse things happen in life than separating out requests from obfuscation via two separate threads.

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)I'd like the pitch envelope in the sampler to be more of a general modulation envelope with routings to pitch, cutoff, resonance and start position.
In an ideal world, the sampler would have some of the modulation matrix functionality of DUNE, whereby voices in DUNE correspond to sample layers in the sampler, i.e., you can change various parameters like cutoff, pitch, LFO speeds/depths and start position on a layer-by-layer process.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)Sampler upgrade...things like pages/tabs for function instead of pop out windows (like program editor etc etc)
would make life a lot easier to make your own sample sets program editor is quite buggy these days so needs some work to bring it up to sracth...tunig is a big problem, stuff like values not keeping new values when other layers are changed, and lots of other small but annoying bugs...they are the reason i stopped using the sampler Windows 11 Home - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz -32GB RAM

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)A Piano Roll button next to the Mute Solo Record buttons on the Playlist that would allow an instrument's Piano Roll to be opened full screen without having to first open it's GUI and to be closed without first having the GUI show......
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)- My main gripe is still how automation is done, its lack of overview and to edit it smoothly post-recording.
- I also would like to see automation of fx behave as automation of generator data. The former, contrary to how I'd prefer things to work, remains in its place in the timeline when I copy and paste pattern data across the sequencer. (I've spoken about this before, so I won't harp on about it.) Those are my wishes - everything else is secondary to me.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)For "Ghost" notes (show notes from all modules = M) to be able to see only specific modules rather then all. A choice similar to the one "Receiving MIDI from Generator" but instead "Receiving notes from Module...) so much more clear to write contrappunto, bass/drums, (toccata and fugue = just kidding) etc.
Quality over nonsense! ditto: ORION over the rest!
