I think it's very necesary best audio recording, because is very bad the recording and the editing audio in Orion.
And the posibility to change the synth of one track if we want like on FL Studio.
Another thing to add is visual automation like in Reason.
But necesary necesary, better audio recording because I sing in my songs.

every thing is possible, but the lack of audio editing can restrain some kind of project Yamaha CS-30, Roland SH-1, Roland MKS70, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, Yamaha FS1R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Novation Remote 37SL, Korg Legacy, Alesis M1Active 520, Novation Launchpad Pro, Push2, Intel i7-7700HQ
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)A NEW SAMPLER DESIGN. same principles, but with graphic drag n drop sample allocation
and easy zone creation. this is missing from almost every 'virtual sampler'(and definitely every hardware sampler), inexplicably. i would like to use the multi mode, but find the separation of L/R channels confuses things - could be useful but it isn't a priority - and you are reduced to using dialogs. priority should be given to the basics first. i just want to grab a file i've auditioned via a directory tree and drop it on a slot that i can drag or key in, low/high range with the midi keyboard. (and adjust for velocity). it would also be very useful if the sampler could export other formats such as sf2 or other, that could be loaded into other samplers/hardware samplers.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)REWORK OF SONG MODE. this hasn't changed much since Orion was born.
steal a few ideas from cubase: mute parts, groups+group tracks, alternate arrangements within a 'song' (essential for extracting the good bits of an arrangement, or making/working on alternate sections-gives a bit of extra headspace to work in) how about nicking an idea from ableton: a 'jam recorder' where you can create an arrangement in realtime from the pattern mode, using solos and mutes? it is good that the song mode is not cluttered with too many features, but it still needs a few extra things to help with arrangements.

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)LIVE AUDIO IN BUS? would it be possible to have an audio input direct to the mix,
via channel strip and effects/etc. irrespective of whether it is being recorded or not? (will become particularly relevant with VST3 plugins, as well) in pattern mode too.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)
Not sure if that entails licensing of the format. It's free for reading it, but for creating them... don't know.
Again, not sure, but it might be possible using LiveSets and F9 key (in Orion 8.5, F11 in older). LiveSets retain the Mute/Solo states if I understood that right, and with F9/11 key you can easily put them in playlist.
Good suggestion. Quite frankly, I'd like to see that for everything: knobs and faders

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)The ability to save and recall mixer channels.
Save all mixer settings and fx. Save insert settings and fx. Save Return settings and fx. Save Bus settings and fx. I use this all the time in Cubase, very handy if you have a song that you really like a channels' mixer/fx - just save as a strip and recall where you need it.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)A keyboard shortcut to double the length of a pattern would be very handy (sometimes it is quite annoying that you have to type in the pattern length or to use this arrows).
Or does it already exist? A list of all existing shortcuts would be very usefull. Does anyone have one? http://soundcloud.com/chris-qhq/moonshine

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)32bit VST to work on 64bit Orion. seriously. I think so many people wish that.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)'how about nicking an idea from ableton: a 'jam recorder' where you can create an

Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)i don't have 8.5, just 7.6, so apologise if this is out of date:
re:SF2 export+licensing...is this required? if not: the grooveslicer is a great tool for splitting audio at different bpm. would be great if it could create separate wav files to a specified folder. it is the kind of thing you need soundforge for (and it takes longer ) i like the idea of using Orion as a wider studio environment other than pure sequencing and composition duties. i always use it to audition a new plugin, for example. so, to some extent the same consideration applies in some way to formats that can be exported by the excellent drumrack.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)re:LIVE AUDIO IN
not that bothered about VST3. there are thousands of viable effects to check out out there already...what do you use when you want to plug in a source and see what a plugin does to it? i'd just like to have a stereo/mono input channel with the usual strip, and to be able to record to disk like that, with the other channels playing. (or can i do this already and i missed it?) nb: not really interested in new standards or stuff. more about getting basic things and good workflow improved.
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)@ pHFX - Live Audio In
I have said this before, I have been doing this for soooooo long, I really dont recall when it was possible. The requirements are a soundcard with decent audio input port. In the the audio setup preferences I think you need to check activate input 1/2 and check Monitor Input. You can lay on the FX or record your meanderings. Orion kicks serious arse. ---=u f o=--- /Radiation Mutant / Snee-Nee-Iq
Re: Wishlist 2012 - Wishes only! (Sticky)I think the Variable Filter of Orion needs an overhaul.
At the moment it only goes down to 200 Hz which is really not sufficient from my point of view. http://soundcloud.com/chris-qhq/moonshine
